Kelly Stafford made an honest admission about herself as the football WAG and her family gear up for another NFL season.

“I hope one day when my kids are older, they look back and say ‘even though my mom was a overstimulated, raging psycho, she still gave us the best childhood,’” Stafford, 37, shared via Instagram on Tuesday, September 8.

She added via her Instagram Story, “Just hoping it’ll take a lot of time before that day 😢.”

Kelly’s post was accompanied by a video collage featuring the four daughters she shares with her husband, Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford: twins Sawyer and Chandler, 9, Hunter, 8 and Tyler, 6.

Matthew, 38, and the Rams open the 2026 NFL season in Australia against the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday, September 10.

Kelly and Matthew met during their time at the University of Georgia — where he played football and she was a cheerleader — before tying the knot in 2015, while Matthew was quarterback of the Detroit Lions.

“Looking back at Detroit, I would say I was happy because I loved him, but I was also unhappy because I didn’t really know where I fit in or who I was,” Kelly shared on “The Cutting Edge” podcast in July. “The move to L.A. really helped me realize I can be what I want to be, too.”

She added, “But I do think you lose yourself in what everyone else expects you to be.”

Matthew was traded from the Lions to the Rams in March 2021, the same year Kelly launched her podcast, “The Morning After.”

“You end up being this partner and your image is known as, you know, I was Matthew Stafford’s girlfriend and then I was Matthew Stafford’s fiancée, Matthew Stafford’s wife,” Kelly said on “The Cutting Edge.” “You tend to lose who you are, or I did.”

She added, “I would remind myself to just stay true to the values I have … that I can chase after my own goals, too. It doesn’t just have to be about his.”

Kelly put “The Morning After” on hiatus in November 2025, explaining she wanted to focus on spending more time with her family.

“I feel this pull to get back to my roots, and to do that, I have to pour into the people I love most,” Kelly shared via Instagram at the time. “I’ve got a husband in the middle of one hell of a season, and I want to be fully locked in with him. I want to be present for my girls. I want to give my whole heart to the people who have always given theirs to me.”

She added, “This isn’t a goodbye…it’s a see y’all later,’” Kelly insisted. “Thank you for letting me grow, change, fall apart, rebuild, and evolve right beside you. Thank you for loving me through all my versions.”
