Sweet Magnolias

Sweet Magnolias is a romance drama that chronicles three South Carolina women as they navigate love, friendship and family in their small Southern town. Originally adapted from the novels by Sheryl Woods, the show follows childhood best friends Maddie Townsend (JoAnna Garcia Swisher), Dana Sue Sullivan (Brooke Elliott) and Helen Decatur (Heather Headley), known collectively as the Sweet Magnolias.

With the help of her friends, Maddie seeks out a fresh start after separating from her husband, Bill (Chris Klein). Looking to reenter the workforce and maybe find love again, she leans on Helen and Dana Sue while supporting them through their own hardships. Together, the three women face heartbreak, test new relationships and navigate parenthood in their cozy hometown of Serenity, South Carolina. The show features cast members Logan Allen, Anneliese Judge, Carson Rowland, Jamie Lynn Spears, Dion Johnstone, Brandon Quinn and Chris Medlin.

The show premiered on Netflix in May 2020. It has since aired for four seasons and, in 2025, it was renewed for a fifth season which is set to air in June 2026.
