Selling Sunset

Selling real estate in the Los Angeles area can be as cutthroat as it is glamorous, as seen on reality series Selling Sunset. The show premiered on Netflix in March 2019, showcasing the behind-the-scenes drama of real estate agents as they fight over clients and properties.

The show revolves around the Oppenheim Group, a high-end real estate brokerage firm in the Los Angeles area (with offices in West Hollywood and Newport Beach), where elite real estate brokers sell luxurious properties to affluent buyers. Brokerage cofounders and twins Jason and Brett Oppenheim oversee the firm, their team of agents and high-profile clients.

The first season featured Brett, Jason, Mary Fitzgerald, Christine Quinn, Chrishell Stause, Maya Vander and Heather Rae El Moussa (née Young). Drama escalates whenever a new agent joins the team and tries to fit in with the veterans, from Amanza Smith in season 2 to Emma Hernan and Vanessa Villela season 4. Chelsea Lazkani joined the cast for season 5, with Nicole Young and Bre Tiesi joining in season 6 after Quinn’s exit.

The success of the show has spawned two spinoffs: Selling Tampa, following the Allure Realty firm in Florida, and Selling the OC, following the Oppenheim Group branch in Newport Beach.
