American Crime Story
American Crime Story follows American Horror Story as the second anthology series in the American Story franchise. Each season is independent in plot and cast but has a central theme of American true crime.
The first season premiered in 2016 and highlighted the infamous O.J. Simpson murder trial. Cuba Gooding Jr., Sterling K. Brown, Kenneth Choi, Christian Clemenson, Bruce Greenwood, Nathan Lane, Sarah Paulson, David Schwimmer, John Travolta and Courtney B. Vance starred as dramatized versions of the trial’s major players. Season 2 was focused on the murder of designer Gianni Versace, played by Edgar Ramirez. Darren Criss portrayed killer Andrew Cunanan. Season 3 aired in 2021 and chronicled the Clinton-Lewinsky scandal, featuring Paulson, Beanie Feldstein, Clive Owen, Margo Martindale, Edie Falco and Annaleigh Ashford.
Seasons 1 and 2 both won Golden Globe Awards for Best Miniseries or Television Film, with Paulson and Criss winning Best Actress and Best Actor, respectively. The series has also earned three Emmy Awards.
