Taste testing pizza is a tough job, but somebody’s gotta do it! A Scotland-based company called Ooni, which makes portable outdoor pizza ovens that can cook a pie in just 60 seconds, is on the hunt for several pizza testers, and the job could pay up to $1,000 a day.
Testers will be able to make and sample different pies from the comfort of their own kitchens, but they must cook them using one of Ooni’s stainless steel, portable, wood-fired pizza ovens in order to get paid, according to Thrillist.
The outlet also notes that the testers, who will be hired on a part-time, freelance basis, must work at least a whopping two days a month. Additionally, the chosen ones will be tasked with providing feedback on new products and showcasing the brand on their social media accounts, and they may occasionally be asked to participate in live demos and events.
Believe it or not, there’s no experience needed for this practically perfect position, but those who know a thing or two about pizza and cooking can expect to be paid more than novices. For example, while a pizza tester with little to no experience can expect to be paid the base day rate of $300, someone who has set foot in a professional kitchen could fetch the maximum payout of $1,000 per day.
What’s more? Ooni will send testers one its own ovens to use, and will cover the cost of all the pizza ingredients without eating away at the impressive daily rate.
Food & Wine notes the pizza-taster position is mainly to “promote the brand, get customer feedback, and continue to evolve the company,” and the taster application informs applicants that Ooni is looking for multiple people to assist with creating unique “recipe developments, product testing and brand ambassadorship.”
“Maybe you’re a chef, a food stylist, a pizzaiolo, or simply a super passionate home cook,” the application states. “You’ll be helping us develop and test recipes using our awesome wood-fired pizza ovens, as well as testing and providing feedback on new products, plus showcasing Ooni to the world through your social media accounts and at live events.”
