“Hayden’s death remains under investigation and it is important to allow that investigation to proceed,” Hickerson’s attorney Sloan Ellis told TMZ on Thursday, August 20. “As has been publicly reported, police confirmed there were no signs of foul play. Out of respect for Hayden’s loved ones and the ongoing investigation, there will be no further comment at this time.”

News broke on Sunday, August 16 that Panettiere died at age 36. At the time, TMZ reported that Panettiere traveled with Hickerson, 37, from Los Angeles to South Carolina one day before her death. Local authorities confirmed on Monday, August 17 that they received reports of an “unresponsive female” at a residence, who was later identified as Panettiere.

First responders attempted to resuscitate Panettiere using “advanced cardiac life support,” according to TMZ. In addition to CPR, the tactics included special medicines, breathing tubes and heart rhythm tracking. Panettiere was reportedly pronounced dead after the paramedics’ efforts were unable to revive her.

Two ambulances responded to the scene, according to an update reported by TMZ, which noted the residence was where Hickerson had been living with his brother.

In dispatch audio obtained by People, officials were heard discussing an “overdose” and “cardiac arrest” around the time of Panettiere’s death. (A cause of death was not immediately revealed.)

Panettiere and Hickerson faced their fair share of ups and downs since they started dating in 2018. Hickerson was originally arrested for domestic violence in 2018 after an alleged argument between the pair.

Hickerson was charged with felony domestic violence, which resulted in a prosecutor-requested protective order. The order mandated that Hickerson could not come within 100 yards of Panettiere or contact her via phone, email or third party, but the charges were dropped the following year.

The actor was arrested again in July 2020 after allegedly punching Panettiere in the face. He pleaded no contest to two felony counts of injuring a spouse or girlfriend, and his remaining six counts of domestic violence and assault were dismissed. Hickerson served 33 days in prison and was also placed on four years of probation and required to pay a $500 fine.

Amid Hickerson’s legal issues, Panettiere publicly reunited with her ex-boyfriend multiple times. Panettiere later addressed her tumultuous relationship with Hickerson, telling The New York Times in April 2023 that she reconnected with Hickerson after they both became sober.

“I did not do any of this lightly,” she explained at the time about letting Hickerson back into her life after his past arrests for domestic violence. “He knows he deserved what happened to him.”

She noted that their reconciliation was “contingent on him continuing” on his road of recovery.

Panettiere offered more details about their tumultuous romance in her May memoir, This Is Me: A Reckoning.

“It was brutal. It was traumatic. It was emotional. It was important for me to word that experience properly,” Panettiere exclusively told Us at the time. “I needed to believe that it happened for a reason. For something so horrible to happen, the only thing that I could think of to make it all worth it, was [to] let people know that they’re not alone and help people.”

She added: “[I’m] making sure that the people that have gone through similar things, don’t feel like they’re alone, and don’t feel like nobody understands them and knows that there’s somebody out there who went through it. And even though it took her years to truly get herself out of the situation, it’s possible. You can do it.”

Hickerson, meanwhile, spoke out about his past legal issues.

“Man, I mean, I think it speaks for itself … I got arrested for abusing her,” Hickerson said in an interview with TMZ that same month. “And I wouldn’t blame her friends for being pissed off at me. … I had a lot to drink and I got physical with her. I got arrested. I spent the night in jail and that’s just what happens when you lay hands on women.”

Hickerson said he has “had a couple opportunities to apologize” to Panettiere for the abuse.

“Our relationship now is … I think it’s just a mutual respect thing. She’ll always hold a special place in my heart and, you know, I hope the same for her,” he said.

In the same interview, Hickerson also admitted he was still holding out hope of one day marrying the actress. “Yeah, of course… I hope so — she probably doesn’t think the same way,” he told TMZ, noting it was in her best interests to let her walk her own path. “I think that Hayden is one of the most talented people I’ve ever met in my life, and I would be an idiot not to walk away from her and let her flourish in her career.”

Panettiere is survived by her 11-year-old daughter, Kaya, whom she shared with boxer Wladimir Klitschko, and her parents, Skip Panettiere and Lesley Vogel.

“As the Lindsay Clancy trial forces a new national reckoning with postpartum mental illness and with what can happen when women ask for help but still fall through the cracks, it feels important to share [my experience] again,” Milano, 53, wrote via her Substack on Tuesday, August 18.

Clancy is facing three counts of first-degree murder and three counts of assault and battery over the deaths of her three children — Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months. Prosecutors maintain that Lindsay intentionally killed her children.

Her defense team has countered that Clancy was experiencing postpartum psychosis and suffers from bipolar disorder, which led her to commit acts of self-harm and jump out of a second story window in an apparent suicide attempt on the same day as her children’s deaths. Clancy was left paralyzed from the waist down as a result.

Throughout the trial, Clancy’s lawyers have continuously stressed that she should not be held responsible for the deaths of her children due to her mental health crisis. Per her lawyers, Clancy was prescribed antidepressants to treat her postpartum depression but they only made her condition worse.

Milano acknowledged in her Substack post that her own experience with postpartum anxiety and Clancy’s postpartum psychosis are not directly comparable.

“Postpartum anxiety and postpartum psychosis are different conditions, and my experience is not Lindsay Clancy’s,” she wrote. “But the trial has brought renewed attention to a truth that connects them: maternal mental-health symptoms must be recognized, believed and treated with urgency.”

The Charmed actress shared a column she originally wrote for Time in May 2018 for Mental Health Awareness Month, in which she opened up about her mental health journey.

Milano theorized that her “Generalized Anxiety Disorder was most likely triggered by my postpartum depression” when he gave birth to son Milo, now 14, in 2011. (Milano and husband David Bugliari also share 11-year-old daughter Elizabella Dylan.)

“That first night, after we returned from the hospital, I suffered my first anxiety attack. I felt like I had already disappointed my child,” she remembered. “I felt like I failed as a mother, since I was not able to give birth vaginally or nourish him with the breast milk that had not come in yet. My heart raced. My stomach seized up. I felt like I was dying.”

At the same time, Milano felt pressure to return to work on a TV show even while in the throes of anxiety and depression.

“Every day, I would drive to work and think about all the ways that Milo could die in the hands of his caretakers,” she wrote. “Every night, after working 16-hour days, after I was finally able to hold my child and put him to sleep, my day’s anxiety would culminate into a debilitating anxiety attack.”

Milano finally asked for help from a psychiatrist during a late-night hospital visit. The star ultimately stayed in “a public psychiatric ward for three days,” at her request.

“At last, I began to feel as if my pain was recognized, but it wasn’t easy. One of my doctors dismissed my symptoms, and many of my colleagues, even female colleagues, still had trouble understanding that I was hurting at all,” she noted. “But throughout this process, I also found angels — including my psychiatrist and my therapist. They convinced me that I had the bravery to face my illness, the value to seek help and the strength to recover. And I am continuing to do all three. And most likely I will for the rest of my life.”

Following her harrowing postpartum experience, Milano felt strongly that the healthcare system “should not confront these [mental health] challenges by placing more hurdles in front of Americans who desperately need the care.”

“Mental health is also not a threat that can only happen to someone else: one in six Americans face mental illness, and less than half of them receive any form of mental health services,” she concluded. “Let’s rededicate ourselves to talking about mental health. Let’s demand that our lawmakers pass policies that open — not restrict — our access to mental health services. Let’s remind each other that no one should have to face these challenges by themselves.”

Night after night, small disruptions stack up until one of you ends up on the couch wondering if this is just how it is now.

It is common enough that there is a name for it. Nearly one in three U.S. adults said they tried a sleep divorce in 2025, according to the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. But sleeping separate is not the only path to better rest. Sometimes the thing keeping you awake is more fixable than you think.

What Is a Sleep Divorce and Why Are So Many People Trying It?

A sleep divorce is when partners sleep in separate beds or rooms to reduce nighttime disruptions and get better rest. Despite the name, it does not necessarily mean the relationship is in trouble.

The trend has stayed remarkably consistent. About 35 percent of Americans said they occasionally or consistently slept separately in 2023. That number dipped to 29 percent in 2024 before climbing back to 31 percent in 2025, according to the American Academy of Sleep Medicine’s Sleep Prioritization Survey. Adults ages 35–44 were the most likely group at 39 percent, compared to just 18 percent of adults 65 and older.

“The term might sound alarming, but it’s not about ending a relationship — it’s about prioritizing sleep health and addressing the sleep issues that may be eroding a relationship,” AASM spokesperson Dr. Seema Khosla said in an AASM release.

Couples also make less drastic adjustments. The 2025 survey found 37 percent went to bed at a different time than they wanted and 15 percent used a silent alarm. In 2024, 10 percent had tried the Scandinavian sleep method, where partners share a mattress but use two separate blankets.

“A sleep divorce is not a sign of a relationship in trouble – it allows for honest conversation about disruptive habits and allows each person to enjoy uninterrupted, restorative sleep,” Dr. Khosla added.

Why Snoring Is Behind So Many Sleep Divorces

Snoring is one of the top complaints that drive couples to separate bedrooms. If you have ever wondered how to sleep with a snoring partner, you are not alone.

Bed partners of heavy snorers are up to three times more likely to have difficulty falling or staying asleep, according to a 2017 literature review in the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine.

A 2023 study published in Cureus followed 70 people with obstructive sleep apnea and their partners. Among couples who did not always sleep together, 86 percent pointed to snoring as the main complaint. After treatment, 72.4 percent of those couples began sharing a bed again, suggesting the sleep arrangement was a symptom of an addressable health issue rather than the relationship itself.

Loud, frequent snoring accompanied by gasping, choking or pauses in breathing can be a sign of obstructive sleep apnea and warrants medical evaluation, according to Johns Hopkins Medicine.

How Poor Sleep Can Hurt Your Relationship

A partner’s nighttime habits affect more than just hours slept. Sleep loss can shape mood, stress levels and how couples handle disagreements.

A study published in Psychoneuroendocrinology randomly assigned 30 couples to either one night of total sleep deprivation or normal sleep before having them discuss a recurring conflict. Sleep-deprived couples showed higher cortisol during the discussion and less positive emotion before and afterward.

Even one bad night can make relationship conflict more stressful. That is part of why sleeping separately does not automatically mean a couple is struggling. For some, protecting each person’s rest may actually reduce a major source of daytime tension.

“We know that poor sleep can worsen your mood, and those who are sleep deprived are more likely to argue with their partners. There may be some resentment toward the person causing the sleep disruption which can negatively impact relationships,” Dr. Khosla said in a 2023 AASM release.

Sleep Solutions to Try Before Sleeping in Separate Beds

Before committing to a sleep divorce, it is worth identifying what is actually causing the disruption. A few targeted sleep solutions may be all you need.

For snoring and noise, earplugs, white noise machines or sleep earbuds can help mask the sound. Newer sleep earbuds combine passive isolation with noise masking and in some models active noise cancellation.

Snoring itself can sometimes be reduced by switching to side sleeping, since lying flat on the back tends to make it worse. Persistent or loud snoring should be evaluated for sleep apnea.

For blanket and temperature conflicts, the Scandinavian sleep method lets each partner control their own warmth without giving up the shared mattress.

When schedules clash, staggered bedtimes and silent alarms can reduce disruption. And for movement, a mattress with better motion isolation makes tossing and turning less noticeable.

No single fix works for every couple. But the useful first step is figuring out what is actually keeping you awake before deciding that separate bedrooms are the only answer.

“I said things I shouldn’t have said, and I understand why people are disappointed or uncomfortable watching it,” Anna Leigh, 31, shared via Instagram on Wednesday, August 19, acknowledging that it was inconsiderate to her husband, Coy Wilson, and their relationship. “I’m married, and I know the conversation crossed a line that I never should have allowed it to cross. I take responsibility for that.”

During the Wednesday episode of The Challenge: Cutthroat, cameras rolled as Anna Leigh and Leo, 24, flirted in between challenges.

“You’ve been my f***ing eye candy since day one. I’ve been trying to control myself,” Leo — who previously starred on season 5 of Love Island USA — said. “I would have so much satisfaction giving you the best f***ing day of your life right here, while they’re all there.”

“I was 4 and he was 8 when they moved up from Texas,” Joy-Anna, 28, said during her appearance on the Wednesday, August 19, episode of sister Jinger Duggar and brother-in-law Jeremy Vuolo’s eponymous podcast.

“We actually met when we were really young,” the 19 Kids and Counting alum continued. “But then his family … I think they had visited wherever we were having church, and then they, like, went and they had a different church and we didn’t see each other really very often until he got his driver’s license and started playing football and broom ball with the boys.”

Joy-Anna admitted that she had been “crushing hard” on Austin, 32, when she was 14 and he was 18.

Jinger, 32, pointed out that although she and Jeremy, 38, are technically further apart in age, her sister’s age gap with Austin felt “a little bit more significant” because they were younger when they started dating.

Joy-Anna was 19 years old when she married Austin in May 2017. He was 23.

“I would have married him from day one,” Joy-Anna told her sister.

After tying the knot, Joy-Anna and Austin went on to welcome son Gideon in February 2018, followed by daughter Evelyn in 2020 and son Gunner in 2023.

Shortly after welcoming the pair’s third child, Joy-Anna reflected on her family and whether she wanted to have more kids.

“Everyone is asking me how many babies I want — if I want more,” she said in a vlog in 2023. “And I’m like, ‘Gracious, guys, I just had a kid.’”

Joy-Anna added that she and Austin had discussed having “four or five” kids, but they weren’t sure if they were still committed to that goal.

Joy-Anna and Jinger are two of Michelle and Jim-Bob Duggar’s 19 children. The family rose to fame on their TLC shows: 19 Kids and Counting and its spinoff, Counting On.

Last month, the sisters opened up about why they weren’t as close growing up.

“I would say we were close in proximity, but not, like, relationally,” Joy-Anna said on Jinger’s podcast. “The bond was not really there.”

Jinger added, “There was an age gap, and I felt like the age gap was segregated by sections. [Our family was] separated by an age gap of the older kids, the middle kids, the younger kids. I was, kind of, in the older section for many years [of] the six oldest.”

As the pair got older, though, their bond grew stronger.

“We live so far away, but out of all the sisters, I feel like I do talk to you the most,” Joy-Anna said, referring to Jinger’s home in California across the country from the rest of the Duggars in Arkansas. “We are very, maybe, just chill and we are who we are. I feel like we’re in the same season of life. At least for me on my side, I feel like I can just pick the phone up, and there’s no pressure to talk to you, but also when we do, it’s like there’s been no time between our conversations.”

Lars Zeepvat told authorities that Agostino Abbatiello, one of the two alleged leaders, was the largest distributor of cocaine at Penn State University between 2023 to 2024. He then claimed that Abbatiello, 24, would brag about how much money he made from selling drugs, according to a grand jury indictment viewed by People.

Zeepvat, 24, said that he and Abbatiello were close friends and they worked together to distribute drugs.

Amid the investigation, Zeepvat told investigators he used cocaine when he first started to attend Penn State and that he had a dealer in Philadelphia who supplied drugs for him and his other Sigma Chi fraternity brothers.

Zeepvat said his supplier stopped communicating with him, so he and Abbatiello sought out a new source. Abbatiello then allegedly found a supplier in his hometown of Long Island, who provided the fraternity brothers with large amounts of cocaine.

Abbatiello allegedly bought 100 grams of cocaine from the supplier in spring 2023, and Zeepvat claimed there was “a shift in Abbatiello” following the large purchase.

“It was clear to him that Abbatiello was now selling drugs for profit, rather than sourcing it for himself and a few friends,” the grand jury indictment stated.

Following the initial success of getting cocaine for his fraternity, Abbatiello allegedly started to branch out and sell drugs to other fraternities as well as students. (In addition to Sigma Chi, Delta Upsilon was also involved in the alleged scheme.)

Zeepvat and another fraternity brother allegedly made three trips to purchase large amounts of drugs for Abbatiello, and Abbatiello would pay them in cash or discounted cocaine.

Once Zeepvat and the fraternity brother would return with cocaine, Abbatiello assigned other fraternity brothers or roommates to help him cut and package the drugs for distribution.

Zeepvat also told investigators that Abbatiello punished him after he was unable to pay back a loan of $1,500 so he could go on a spring break trip with other fraternity brothers. In exchange for the lack of money, Abbatiello allegedly made Zeepvat deliver cocaine for him.

As Us previously reported, Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday announced that Abbatiello and Zeepvat have been hit with several offenses including felony corrupt organizations, conspiracy and dealing in proceeds of unlawful activity.

The Attorney General’s Office also confirmed that Abbatiello surrendered on Tuesday, August 18, after he failed to appear in court for an arraignment scheduled on Monday, August 17. He has since been ordered to jail without bail.

It is not currently clear if Abbatiello or Zeepvat have entered pleas following their arrests. Abbatiello’s attorney did not immediately respond to Us’ request for comment, while an attorney for Zeepvat was not immediately available.

Busch died on May 21, one day after he was found unresponsive in a racing simulator in Charlotte, North Carolina. It was later revealed that he was suffering from pneumonia, which progressed into sepsis. He was 41.

“My brother’s mentality was perfect for the end of his career to try to time it out to where his racing would coincide with Brexton,” Kurt said. “And that way Brexton’s getting the utmost attention from a current driver to develop him faster, quicker, stronger.”

Brad Keselowski, a driver only a year older than Kyle, said he could relate to his late colleague, thinking about the ailments he has tried to push through.

“I drove through concussions, through a broken ankle, broken leg, broken ribs, colds. I ran a race when I had the flu and won it,” he said. “I personally don’t feel like driving the race car was a mistake for Kyle.”

Savchenko, 42, and Samodanova, 41, both appeared virtually during a Thursday, August 20, court hearing, where a judge issued a “stay” on the case. In the postponement, the exes’ 15-year-old daughter, Olivia, was not ordered to leave Los Angeles in favor of Hong Kong, where her mother resides.

Per the judge, Samodanova said she filed a Hague application over child abduction claims which would need to be settled before the L.A. custody suit can move forward. Elsewhere during the hearing, the judge noted that Olivia was not accepted into the California school that Savchenko tried to enroll her in and suggested the exes to find out if the teen can attend virtual classes for the Hong Kong school they previously agreed upon while Olivia remains in L.A.

Samodanova further asked the judge to order Olivia to call her everyday, but the judge was unable to rule on that specific issue. Their next hearing is set for November 3 unless Samodanova proves her Hague case has moved forward.

“This is no longer simply a custody dispute. Most importantly, she is nearly 16 years old and has expressed her own wishes regarding where she wants to live. I respect that there are ongoing legal proceedings, and I intend to address those matters through the appropriate legal channels rather than litigating our family situation publicly.”

He added, “My focus remains on supporting Olivia, protecting her well-being, and ensuring that her own voice and wishes are heard through the appropriate legal process.”

Savchenko and Samodanova, who also share 8-year-old daughter Zlata, initially appeared in court on Tuesday, August 18, before the hearing was postponed until later that week.

“I feel frustrated, but I feel good because the truth always wins,” Savchenko exclusively told Us outside the courthouse. “Hopefully, in a couple of days, we can figure it out and Olivia can go to school and be happy and live with me and visit her sister and her sister can come here and we can all live a good happy life with no problems.”

He added, “I just want to save my kid, you know, that’s all.”

Savchenko filed for sole custody of Olivia in July, asking the court for permission to enroll his eldest child in high school in Los Angeles. Samodanova subsequently asked for primary custody of Olivia, claiming that her ex-husband unexpectedly canceled Olivia’s flight home to Hong Kong without warning. (Samodanova and her partner, Vlad Kvartin, are based in Hong Kong, where Olivia and Zlata are enrolled in school. Samodanova and Kvartin also welcomed their daughter, Victoria, in December 2025.)

Samodanova claimed that Olivia was thriving at her international school and in her amateur ballroom dance career.

“Elena knows where I live and where Olivia is located. Olivia and Elena have spoken several times since Olivia decided she wants to remain in California and live with me,” Savchenko wrote in a court declaration. “The issue is that Elena is very cruel to Olivia, which has caused Olivia to communicate with her mother, much less than perhaps Elena would like.”

“When I find a dead body, I don’t just assume there’s no foul play,” Grace, 66, said on the Wednesday, August 19, episode of her Crime Stories show, while discussing Panettiere’s sudden death at 36. “That’s completely irresponsible.”

DEA Joins Hayden Panettiere Death Investigation: What to Know

Nashville and Heroes actress Panettiere was found dead in Greenville, South Carolina, on Sunday, August 16.

“It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden,” her father, Skip Panettiere, told Us in a statement shared via a spokesperson. “She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her — and to the millions who watched her onscreen. We ask for privacy as our family takes time to process this unimaginable loss.”

In addition to her father, Hayden is survived by her estranged mother, Lesley Vogel, and her 11-year-old daughter, Kaya, whom she shared with ex Wladimir Klitschko. (Skip and Vogel were also parents of son Jansen, who died in 2023 at the age of 28 following an undiagnosed heart condition.)

An investigation into Hayden’s death is ongoing with local police officials quickly ruling out foul play. Vogel, 70, has since told NBC News that a narcotics investigator was called into the death probe.

“At autopsy no signs of trauma were discovered that would have contributed to the death,” the coroner’s official said in a Monday, August 18, report. “This investigation remains active and ongoing. No further details are available for release at this time.”

Grace interviewed toxicologist and medical examiner Dr. Thomas Coyne, who has no connection to Hayden’s case, on Wednesday to provide insight into the concept of ruling out “foul play” in similar instances.

“It’s something we typically say in these types of cases. It just lets the public know that there’s no obvious trauma, no obvious murder that may have occurred,” Coyne explained. “But, in these cases, especially overdose cases, the answer isn’t present at the autopsy. It takes weeks to obtain toxicology results, and so therefore, in the meantime, you do your best to sort of try to provide answers while, at the same time, being respectful for the loved ones who are also at home waiting for those answers as well.”

A cause of death has not yet been publicly revealed, with multiple outlets also reporting that Hayden was found unconscious after an apparent overdose.

The Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office confirmed that Frederick Spears was found guilty of stabbing his wife, Mary Spears, multiple times in Arlington, Texas, on September 22, 2025.

Prosecutors said that Frederick, 57, threatened a family member with knives and he was ordered to stay away from his family just days before he killed Mary, 53.

Following the altercation with the family member, Frederick bought a knife and saw kit that he dubbed a “murder kit,” according to prosecutors.

He then went to Mary’s home in Arlington and waited there until she stepped outside. “What took you so long?” he allegedly asked Mary.

“She was slaughtered and left for dead,” Assistant District Attorney Allenna Bangs said of the tragedy.

After the attack, Mary’s son, Ashton Spears, found her unresponsive and called for help.

Bangs said that the couple had a history of issues, and Frederick allegedly threatened to kill Mary on several occasions over the years.

The District Attorney’s office said that Frederick was eventually found behind a church in Arlington after the attack. Police said that he began stabbing himself and tried to stab a police dog when authorities approached him.

After he was found guilty, Frederick was sentenced to life in prison. The jury did not take long to determine he was guilty, with the deliberation only lasting for 17 minutes.

CBS News reported that Ashton was the family member Frederick had the altercation with days before he killed Mary.

Ashton previously shared Ring camera footage from the incident on September 17, 2025, which showed Frederick holding a knife and threatening his son. The footage ultimately led to Frederick being charged with aggravated assault–family violence.

Ashton also told the outlet that his father had a long history of violence. “You have to walk on eggshells with him. You don’t want to make him mad,” he said, adding that Mary was tired of being pushed around by Frederick.

After Frederick was arrested for his altercation with Ashton, he posted bond and was released. He was arrested days later for killing Mary.

I don’t know if you can see this on my neck, I’m sure people think, ‘Golly, he’s been eatin’ good,’” Moore, 42, said during a Wednesday, August 19, episode of Tracy Lawrence’s “TL’s Road House” podcast. “We thought it was called a lipoma. But it’s just fat. It’s benign, thank God. And they told me it would be very, very difficult to do surgery, and it may affect my singing, and even my speaking voice.”

While Moore said the growth “doesn’t affect” him, he quipped that he looks like a “linebacker circa 1982” with a “thick neck.”

“My wife [Kate Moore] and I were walking out of the hospital when I had an MRI or something and they had told us, ‘Man, great news. It’s benign, but there’s really not anything we can do about it,’” he recalled. “So I was kind of bummed out walking out of the hospital, cause at the time we didn’t know if it was cancer. We didn’t know what it was, you know, and of course your mind takes you to the worst possible places obviously.”

He continued, “And my wife looked at me, she goes, ‘If you just have a fat neck and you’re here for the next 50 years, then shut up and stop complaining.’”

Prior to the health scare, Moore had gone roughly a decade without seeing a doctor.

“I hadn’t gone to the doctor, up until last year, in probably 10 years,” he said. “My grandfathers greatly influenced me, and they were the type that it’s like, if a limb’s hanging off and you’re working, you just kinda tape it back up and go for it, so I was the same way.”

The “Small Town USA” hitmaker shared that he didn’t begin drinking until he was 21 years old and hadn’t faced a health scare “whatsoever” in two decades.

“Then COVID hit and we were doing our podcast at the time and literally nothing else. Man, idle hands are the devil’s workshop is a real thing. A drink at 5, turned into 3 and noon. Then before you know it, it’s all day every day. Not even really getting smashed, just constantly having a cocktail,” he said. “It started affecting my life. Just like everybody else, you think, ‘Oh, nobody knows. I’m hiding this. I’m good. I’m functioning, high functioning.’ I was to an extent.”

Moore said that he was putting “so much energy into drinking” that it was taking away from his “professionalism” and his family and church.

“I came home one Sunday … I walked straight upstairs and told my wife, ‘I gotta go get help. I just gotta do it. I have to do it.’ It wasn’t fun. … But I just looked at it like a business trip, you know. Today is my 65th day sober,” he said. “I feel good, man. I feel like myself for the first time in a while. And I’m actually proud of myself for the first time in a while.”

During his September 2025 appearance at the WellChild Awards in London, Harry, 41, caught up with singer Joss Stone about her own family’s then-recent move back to England.

“It was really sweet to see him after all these years,” Stone, 39, told Hello! after the event. “He joked about me having four children, saying it’s ‘two too many,’ or maybe it wasn’t a joke. He also asked about how we were settling back in and was genuinely interested in our move home. He’s just very warm and down to earth, as always.”

The singer further quipped that she could envision Harry, who shares son Prince Archie and daughter Princess Lilibet with wife Meghan Markle, also returning home down the line.

“That would be nice,” Stone said, noting Harry praised life in England at the time. “He was saying how wonderful the schools are here and how important community is for children. It was nice to share that with him because it’s exactly why [my husband and I] felt drawn to come back — for the kids to grow up surrounded by family, friends and a strong sense of belonging and most importantly in a safe environment.”

News broke on Wednesday, August 19, that Harry and Meghan, 45, intended to move from their home in California to England in time for Archie, 7, and Lili, 5, to attend school this fall.

Harry and Meghan had stepped down from their duties as senior working royals in 2020, relocating to Montecito, California, in favor of a private life with their children.

Following the move, Harry filed multiple legal appeals for his family to have enhanced security whenever they visited the U.K. The Duke of Sussex lost his court bid in 2025.

“I can’t see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the U.K. at this point,” Harry told the BBC in May 2025. “I love my country, I always have done, despite what some people in that country have done.”

According to Harry, he found it “really quite sad” that he didn’t think it’d be possible to bring his kids to England.

“There is a lot of control and ability in my father’s hands. Ultimately, this whole thing could be resolved through him,” Harry alleged at the time. “Not necessarily by intervening, but by stepping aside, allowing the experts [to] do what is necessary.”

Harry had been estranged from his father, King Charles III, since the 2020 step-down. They began mending fences in 2025 amid the king’s battle with an undisclosed form of cancer.

“I would love reconciliation with my family. There’s no point in continuing to fight anymore,” Harry further told the outlet. “Life is precious. I don’t know how much longer my father has.”

Harry and Meghan reunited with Charles, 77, and his wife, Queen Camilla, last month for a low-key meeting at Highgrove House alongside Archie and Lili. The visit was set up for Charles and Camilla, 79, to see their grandchildren for the first time in four years.

Charles found out about Harry and Meghan’s plan to move back to England on Sunday, August 16, Us understands, noting there are no intentions for the Sussexes to resume royal duties.
