Double her age and twice the fun! Katharine McPhee is not afraid to poke fun at the 34-year age difference between her and her husband, David Foster.
Us Weekly confirmed in July 2018 that Foster, 69, popped the question more than a year after the two musicians first sparked romance rumors. McPhee, 35, later revealed the Grammy winner proposed “at the top of this mountain in Anacapri” during an Italian getaway.
The twosome tied the knot in London on June 28, 2019, in front of 100 guests, including the producer’s daughters Sara and Erin Foster. According to a source, McPhee rocked a custom gown by Zac Posen.
Prior to their romance, Foster was a guest mentor on season 5 of American Idol which McPhee alum competed on and finished in second place. Two years later, the producer played piano at the Scorpion actress’ wedding to her now ex-husband, Nick Cokas.
Before they exchanged vows, the Waitress alum revealed the pair were about to wed in a sweet Instagram post.
“Exactly 13 years ago today my very first single, Somewhere Over The Rainbow, was released right after Idol,” she wrote alongside a video via Instagram. “Today… I’m marrying the man who produced it. Life is full of beautiful coincidences, isn’t it? Thank you for taking me over the rainbow, David.”
