What a moment. During a recent concert in Amsterdam, Adele sang a snippet of the Spice Girls’ 1997 hit “Spice Up Your Life” — and fans, naturally, went wild!
In between performing some of her biggest hits, the “Hello” singer, 28, did a hilarious dance as she chanted, “Spice Girls! Spice Girls!” at the Netherlands’ Ziggo Dome on Friday, June 3.
As fans cheered her on, she joked, “Oh, stop it! I’m not a Spice Girl,” before singing an impromptu rendition of “Spice Up Your Life.”
“Colors of the world, spice up your life! Every boy and every girl, spice up your life! People of the world, spice up your life!” the Grammy winner sang as audience members laughed and applauded.
The amazingly candid clip was later uploaded to Twitter by an Adele fan page — and it caught the eye of former Spice Girl Mel C, a.k.a. “Sporty Spice.” The Spice World actress retweeted the video, adding three heart-eyes emojis.
Last week, Adele had yet another talked-about moment when she called out a fan for filming her concert in Verona, Italy. “Can you stop filming me with a video camera because I’m really here in real life,” she said, pointing to a woman in the audience. “You can enjoy it in real life, rather than through your camera. Can you take your tripod down? This isn’t a DVD. This is a real show. I’d really like you to enjoy my show because there’s lots of people outside that couldn’t come in.”
The Academy Award–winning singer is in the midst of a world tour in support of her third album, 25. The 105-date concert tour will continue through Europe until June 15 before heading to North America in July.
