Getting ready for a girl! Joe Duggar and his wife, Kendra Duggar (née Caldwell), revealed the sex of their second baby to Us Weekly exclusively.
“Parenting has already proven to be more wonderful than we could have dreamed,” the Counting On couple, who already share son Garrett David, 12 months, told Us. “Even though we come from large families, there is nothing like having your own children. We are so thrilled that a little girl will be joining our family! Garrett is going to be such a great big brother.”
The pair’s gender reveal party was centered around their son’s birthday bash. They gave him a smash cake, so he revealed the baby-to-be’s sex when he got to the pink frosting inside.
Kendra isn’t the only cast member who is pregnant with a girl! Lauren Duggar (née Swanson) told Us exclusively that she has a daughter on the way, and Jessa Seewald (née Duggar) just welcomed her baby girl last month.
Joe and Kendra announced in April that they are expecting another little one.
“We are ready to double the fun at our house!” the pair told Us exclusively at the time. “Being parents has already proven to be a greater joy than we had hoped or imagined. We love getting to parent together and are loving every moment and milestone. We are very happy that our little family will welcome a new addition later this year. Children really are a blessing from God!”
When their daughter arrives, she will join older brother Garrett, who was born in June 2018. “Kendra delivered yesterday without complications,” a rep for the family told Us exclusively at the time. “Mom and baby are both doing great.”
This announcement came four months after the TLC personalities shared their gender reveal with Us, using exploding blue powder.
“Wow! We are so happy to learn that our firstborn is a boy!” the couple told Us at the time. “Our minds are already racing toward all the future memories to be made with this little guy! Most of all, we are already asking God to bless him and help us grow him into a loving and faithful follower of Christ!”
Kendra, 20, and Joe, 24, met at church and got engaged at Joy-Anna Duggar’s May 2017 wedding. They tied the knot at the First Baptist Church in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, in September 2018.
