Julia Stiles

Julia Stiles is an American actress and director best known for her roles in 10 Things I Hate About You, Save the Last Dance and the Bourne franchise. Stiles began acting at age 11 with New York’s La MaMa Theatre Company. She attended Columbia University, graduating in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in English literature. She also received Columbia’s John Jay Award in 2010 for professional achievement.

Stiles made her film debut in I Love You, I Love You Not in 1996 before landing her first leading role in Wicked in 1998. She rose to fame the following year with 10 Things I Hate About You (1999), starring alongside Heath Ledger and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. She went on to appear in Down to You (2000), Save the Last Dance (2001) and The Bourne Identity (2002), reprising her role as Nicky Parsons throughout the franchise. Her television work includes Dexter, Riviera and The Lake. Throughout her career, she has received both a Golden Globe and Primetime Emmy nomination for her performance in Dexter.

Stiles met camera assistant Preston J. Cook while working on Blackway in 2014. They married in 2017 and share three children: Strummer (born in 2017), Arlo (born in 2022) and Henry (born in 2023).
