Janelle Brown

Janelle Brown is a reality TV personality best known for starring on TLC’s Sister Wives, which documented her life in a plural marriage and her family with Kody Brown. Janelle was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she was raised in a Mormon family.

Janelle was first introduced to Kody by his first wife, Meri, and the pair “spiritually” wed in 1993. She began appearing on the TLC show Sister Wives in 2010, which chronicled her life as a polygamist alongside her then-husband Kody, as well as his three other wives, Meri, Robyn and Christine.

Brown appeared on 20 seasons of Sister Wives, leaving the show shortly after her 2022 split from Kody. She later penned the memoir Becoming Sister Wives: The Story of an Unconventional Marriage alongside the Sister Wives cast, which became a New York Times bestseller.

Janelle was previously married to Adam Barber, the brother of Meri Brown. She entered a spiritual marriage with Kody in 1993 and they separated in 2022 after nearly three decades together. She and Kody share six children: Logan, Madison, Hunter, Garrison, Gabriel and Savanah. Garrison died in 2024 at age 25. In 2026, Janelle became Instagram official with her boyfriend, Pete.
