Emily Blunt

Emily Blunt is a British actress known for her work in both television and film. Blunt was born and raised in London, England, and began acting as a child as part of speech therapy for her stutter. She attended Ibstock Place School and later trained at Hurtwood House. Her stage work as a teenager led to early recognition in the U.K.

Blunt began her professional career in British television, earning critical attention for her role in the TV movie Gideon’s Daughter (2005), which won her a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress – Television. She achieved international recognition shortly after with her breakout performance as Emily Charlton in The Devil Wears Prada in 2006, opposite Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway. She received Golden Globe and BAFTA nominations for her performance, which helped expand her career in film.

Other appearances include The Huntsman: Winter War (2016), A Quiet Place (2018), Mary Poppins Returns (2018), Oppenheimer (2023) and The Smashing Machine (2025). She was announced to reprise her role as Emily Charlton in The Devil Wears Prada 2, which premieres in May 2026.

Blunt married actor John Krasinski in 2010. The couple share two daughters, Hazel (born in 2014) and Violet (born in 2016).
