About

Colin Jost is a writer, comedian and actor. Born and raised in Staten Island, New York, he attended private school in Manhattan before going on to receive a degree from Harvard University. During his college years, Jost was the president of The Harvard Lampoon, the university’s notorious humor publication.

In 2005, Jost was hired as a writer for Saturday Night Live. He quickly moved up the ranks at the variety comedy show, serving as cohead writer from 2012 to 2015. When Seth Meyers left SNL to start hosting Late Night With Seth Meyers in 2014, Jost took over as the “Weekend Update” anchor. He was later joined by Michael Che, and as of 2019, the duo is the longest-serving pair of “Weekend Update” anchors in the show’s history.

Since SNL sparked his rise to stardom, Jost has appeared in 2015’s Staten Island Summer, which he also wrote, and in 2016’s How to Be Single. In July 2020, he released his first memoir, A Very Punchable Face.

In May 2019, the Associated Press confirmed that Jost was engaged to Scarlett Johansson after two years of dating. The pair tied the knot in an “intimate ceremony” benefitting Meals on Wheels in October 2020.
