Chris Klein

Chris Klein is an actor best known for playing Chris “Oz” Ostreicher in the American Pie film franchise and Paul Metzler in Election. Kelin was born in Hinsdale, Illinois, and his family later moved to Omaha, Nebraska, when he was 13. He went on to attend Millard West High School, where he played football. Klein briefly attended Texas Christian University, where he studied theater and joined the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity.

Klein was discovered by Alexander Payne while the director was scouting his high school for Election (1999). Klein landed the role of Paul Metzler in the 1999 film, which marked his screen debut. That same year, he starred as Oz in American Pie (1999), quickly becoming known for teen comedies.

His notable credits include American Pie 2 (2001), Rollerball (2002), We Were Soldiers (2002), Just Friends (2005), American Dreamz (2006) and Labyrinth (2025). On television, he’s appeared in shows including The Flash and Sweet Magnolias.

Klein was engaged to Katie Holmes from 2003 to 2005. Klein married Laina-Rose Thyfault in 2015. Together they share a son and a daughter.
