Anna Kendrick

Anna Kendrick is an actress, singer and filmmaker best known for Pitch Perfect, Up in the Air and The Twilight Saga, as well as her work in musical theater. Born in Portland, Maine, Kendrick began performing as a child and moved to New York City at age 12 to pursue acting. She made her Broadway debut that year in High Society, earning a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Musical. She later attended Deering High School in Portland and went on to pursue acting full-time.

Kendrick made her film debut in Camp in 2003 and went on to appear in movies including Rocket Science (2007) and Twilight (2008) and its sequels. Her breakout came with 2009’s Up in the Air, earning her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress.

Kendrick later became widely known for playing Beca Mitchell in the Pitch Perfect franchise and for singing “Cups,” which became a hit following its appearance in Pitch Perfect (2012). She has also received a Satellite Award as part of the Into the Woods ensemble. She made her directorial debut with Woman of the Hour in 2023.

Kendrick dated filmmaker Edgar Wright from 2009 to 2013 after meeting while working on Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. She later dated cinematographer Ben Richardson from 2014 to 2020. She moved on with actor Bill Hader before she began dating comedian Alex Edelman in 2025.
