With Country Music’s Biggest Night just around the corner in November, Us Weekly caught up with Nashville-based singer/songwriter, Alana Springsteen to hear how she’s getting camera-ready for her red carpet arrival. For Springsteen, creating a wellness routine that incorporates mind, body and spirit is an absolute must to look and feel her best. Check out her plan and get inspired to start your own wellness journey.

1. Keep to a schedule
Routine is everything. One of the things I love about Massage Envy is that they have locations all over the U.S. Because I never know where I’m going to be in any given month, it’s amazing to know that I can stick to a routine in any city and get a therapeutic massage or a custom facial to give my skin the love it needs — whether it’s dealing with acne or needs hydration or a little extra glow.

2. Make fitness a priority
Fitness has been such an important part of my routine the past couple of years, but also it really gets my headspace right for the day. I like to mix it up a little bit. I love Pilates, yoga and some light running. I like to listen to my body, so if I’m feeling a little more tired that day, I give my body the rest it needs and just do a quick stretch.

3. Listen to your body
A quote that I love is, “Beauty begins the moment you decide to be yourself.” I feel that so deeply. Growing up I had a rough relationship with my skin. I dealt with a lot of cystic acne and it really rocked my self-confidence. It forced me to learn how to be kind to myself and listen to my body. When I know I have an event coming up, I always try to plan ahead. With my Massage Envy membership, in addition to a facial, I plan to get a massage every month so I can show up for my body the way it needs. Getting massaged, feeling relaxed, letting my body feel loose and taken care of is so important.

4. Keep a journal
One thing that I love is keeping a journal. So, every day, even if it’s just bullet points, I try to write down memories, little things from the day that made me happy or sad. Writing has also always been my therapy. If I’m going through something, if my heart’s heavy, it manifests in some way. I try to let all of that go and just write it down and leave it there.

5. Make meaningful connections
Live music and being on stage are my favorite feelings in the entire world. Even as a kid, I chased that high and I fell in love with connecting with people through music. Growing up, there were so many artists and so many shows that I went to where I felt just a little bit less alone by relating to their experience. And all that I can hope is that in some way a song that I write or a story that I tell can help someone out there feel like they’re not the only one going through what they’re going through.
