Def Leppard were recording Hysteria when drummer Rick Allen lost his LEFT ARM at the shoulder in a horrific car crash on 12/31/84. His first performance afterward was in front of 100,000 people at The Monsters of Rock Festival in Donnington, England and Hysteria became Def Leppard's biggest selling album EVER!
David Coverdale of Deep Purple/Whitesnake LOST his voice and, add to that, the musicians on the Whitesnake 1987 album abandoned Coverdale midway through the sessions. He had career threatening throat surgery and assembled a new lineup. Whitesnake's first performance with the new lineup was in front of 80,000 people at The Cotton Bowl in Dallas, TX at the 1987 Texxas Jam. The Whitesnake 1987 album became the band's best seller.
Pink Floyd were written off by the rock music world by saying "PF are nothing without Roger Waters" and released their first album without him called A Momentary Lapse of Reason on 9/8/87. The album went on to become the band's first US Top 5 album since 1980 when The Wall hit #1, outsold its predecessor (1983's 2 million seller The Final Cut) by two million when AMLoR sold four million in the US and spawned a tour which started with a show in front of 20,000 people in Ottawa, Canada in 9/87 and ended in front of 150,000 people at Knebworth in England on 6/30/90. Also, the band's first US tour in TEN YEARS in support of AMLoR (The Wall shows of 1980/81 only had 12 performances in L.A. and NY, 12 in the UK and 5 in Germany as the staging was too expensive to tour) saw all of the shows on the tour SELL OUT ARENAS AND STADIUMS THE WORLD OVER and was documented on the Delicate Sound of Thunder live double album and video in 1988/89.

She looks good in this picture but not so good from some angles during the show. I do not think she is fat. Not many people can pull off wearing a bikini on national television in one pose. Add being shot from mutiple cameras with zoom lenses, HDTV and no air brushing. I never thought she was a great singer but she was an amazing dancer and entertainer. She needs to get back with her family/stylist/publicist and listen to the advice they give her. In every picture I have seen of her lately she is wearing horrible clothing, no bra and boots (and it's been hot). She looks dirty and her behavior is bizarre. I hope she gets the help she needs.

Her body is fine - she's not fat - but she is a pig. I think she's gross - the epitome of white trash. Why does she dress so badly? One would think with all of her money she could buy a decent (non-trashy, cheap-looking) outfit.Tacky tacky tacky. Her only saving grace lies in the fact that she has excellent music producers - otherwise she is bland and flat, sans any true vocal or creative talent.

I think it went EXACTLY the way the VMA people knew it would. It's not as if she's a great music catch at the moment.. The VMA people know she is just Tabloid food at the moment.What goes around comes around and I hope those VMA people get what they deserve

I don't think she ever should have appeared on the VMA's. She wasn't ready, however, she was sipping Tequila and had a doc there to administer med's to calm her nerves...I think she just took too much. I feel bad for her because she is in a bad place and people need to lay off with the meanness. She is after all a human being.
Maybe she does crazy stuff but that all stems from her being in a bad place surrounding herself with 'yes' people. Having a loser ex such as K-fed doesn't help nor did having two babies. But she has the kids now and needs to chill, stay low and raise the kids and get her head together.

this isn't about how she looks ...she looks good but more about her performance which was awful either she has forgotten she use to be a dance/singer or her hearts just not in it anymore because what i saw in that video was not britt if thats what we have to look forward to then i prefer she retire.
i believe that shes soo hot ,..and for coming back after so many years ,,.she did an awsome job,...and my goodness,..shes a mother too ,..i liked her song,..its sounds good,.she just needs a few more weeks of some live performances , and shes back for a long time!!!!

All I have to say about Brit at the VMAs....is that I think she looked hottt, but i think she could have done a lil better! I mean this is the girl who a few years ago came out on stage with a 6 foot snake and did a hell of a job! I love Brit, but that was not her best moment, but then again she might be able to make yet another comeback!! I have my fingers crossed for Brit!! Oh yeah, and I think that what Sarah Silverman said about her kids was not cool!! Those kids are so cute, and they are to young to be talked about like that. thats all, thanks!!!

She is very pretty and people have been so unkind to her!! They built her up and now they are enjoying tearing her down it is disgusting and wrong. Everything she does is scrutinized and discussed. What a horrible way to have to go through life. I hope she gets healthy and gets back what makes her happy. The emotional toll she has had these past two years could break anybody. A death, two births and a divorce, along with feeling betrayed by those she loved the most. Many positive vibes being sent her way for some peace!!

I can't believe that people think she looked fat! I have 2 small children and I do not look near as good as her! Her performance was a little "off" but I cannot begin to imagine the pressure she must have felt and I am glad that I do not have to be a mother in the pubic eye like she does. I don't think it matters what she does at this point, she is going to get critized.
I do think that with all the money she has, she could have bought some better looking wigs...
I seriously cannot wait to get her CD. I agree she is pretty! :)
Wow. she looks stunning there. She just needs to get serious about her comeback man. When she's on top of her business, she's unstoppable. Why have people called this girl"Fat"? Isn't Beyonce the same size (or bigger)?
