Us Hosts The Hills ... and Drama Crashes the Party

It wouldn't be an Usmagazine.com party if it didn't include at least a little bit of drama. And Sunday night's Usmagazine.com Oscars after-party with Usonian Entertainment and the cast of MTV's The Hills was filled with plenty of it. Along with a lot of partying and beautiful-person gazing.

The lavish event -- the latest in our Us @ Night after-hours event series -- was held at the Hollywood Hills home of real estate mogul Ronald Haft, and the most overheard thing heard from party-goers was, "What an amazing view!"

But the most overheard question of the night by far was "Where's Lauren?" -- as in, Conrad. As in Brody Jenner's former girlfriend. As in, Heidi Montag's close friend. "I wish she was here," Montag told us.

So where was Lauren? The party buzz was that "L.C." is none-too-pleased with comments allegedly made by Hills star Spencer Pratt in a recent Details magazine article and would rather stay home watching Kristin Cavallari on Laguna Beach re-runs than bump and grind within an epithet's throw of Pratt.

For what it's worth, however, when asked about Conrad on the red carpet, Jenner, who spent the night surrounded by a gaggle of blondes, gentlemanly said, "I love Lauren. It's all good."

Don't get us wrong. The party, which dragged on until nearly 3 a.m. on a patio stage, wasn't all backstabs and catfights. Everyone from Jenna Jameson to that Fat Guy From Borat (Ken Davitan) was in attendance and had some good clean fun.

But we think Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip star Ayda Field said it best when she told Us: "I do like Us, way better than People.com. I really do!"

So do we!

Us Weekly, I find it disgusting that you would promote a guy like Brody Jenner, between things he's said on TV and in print and his connection to that leper Spencer Pratt, not to mention the fact that the guy has never done ANYTHING noteworthy besides being somebody's spoiled brat. Please, please rethink your "Bachelor" contest --- find somebody WORTH a woman's time, not somebody who uses women for publicity.

Spencer is such a gross human being. There's only so much you can blame on the way a show is edited, but his true personality is definitely apparent. Even to look at his picture gives you the creeps. He has "crazy eyes." You know where you can just tell a person isn't quite all there or is a bit off by there eyes? He seems to have everyone that is close to him fooled. It's all very weird. Lauren keeps saying that he's "brainwashing" Heidi. I think that may be a bit much, but I see what she means. He is very good at maniuplating people. You'd think after watching the shows now that they've aired more people would be catching on. Oh well!
