Some of us have started forums away from US; some of us post on other sites; some of us just lurk. As Owen Wilson struggles to recover from his suicide attempt on August 26, a battle is brewing between his friend, Steve Coogan and the British comic’s ex-girlfriend, rocker Courtney Love.
A week after Love told Us she tried to warn Owen about his pal (and her ex) Steve Coogan and his alleged past drug use, Us Weekly obtained Coogan’s response: an angry letter from Coogan’s lawyer to Love. (Love’s rep had no comment.)
Highlights: He wasn’t an enabler. Coogan, 41, and Wilson, 38, “have never used drugs together,” says his attorney. Coogan is “concerned about Mr. Wilson," writes the lawyer, before adding, “Your purported concern…seems much less likely than your apparent intrest in publicly maligning [your ex].”
As for Wilson, the actor has put his $10 million-a-film career on hold for now and is focusing on getting the help he needs from the people who love him most.
Currently, he's residing at home, under the watchful care of his family, including parents Bob and Laura. "It's been particularly hard on [brother] Luke, but he's taking a strong role in the recovery," says an insider. "They're looking into getting Owen help, either a treatment facility or someone one-on-one."
Adds the source: "No one close to him knew how anxious and overwhelmed he was feeling. Now he doesn't have to hide behind the comedian mask anymore."

Yeah....i'm quite cheered by the response I got from my post. The nice people are still out there! I'm really happy to hear it. I now know where you went. Yeah, i'm still using a name, but I guess I understand why you all don't. At least now I know some of the friendly people I had some fun converstaions with are still out there.
That of course means the next post referencing my post will be mean. But at least we know some of us out here enjoy posting friendly comments to each other, and about the stories...

I won't say poor Owen but it's obviously he's another one of these comidians who is really crying behind the laughter. I hope he gets real help, and not just he kind that Lindsay Lohen and Britney get.

I had a name on here for the longest but then if someone did not like what I said or was just in a "mood" that day the jokes would start and then trolls would be using it saying nasty things. 1:38, again, thanks for the civility. The mental health centers I was referring to do have to do with drugs, alcohol, eating disorders, etc.. I didn't know there were specific clinics to suicide, so thanks for the information.

Jen1, I agree with what you're saying, but I don't think the rude comments are limited to Anon posters. There are plenty of people who post with names that are rude, racist and hateful. I used a name for awhile, but then posers would take my name and write hateful things, so it wasn't worth having a name. That's just my take on it. I do agree these boards have gotten out of control. Yesterday's were FILTHY.

Suicides that aren't caused by underlying reasons? Like I accidently tried to off myself? Drugs aren't the only reason people try to end it all. I'm not going to waste my time with you learn how to GOOGLE and learn a little more about your town. Chicago is amazing and has some of the most top notch recovery centers.

I'm sure i'll get slammed, but I gotta say, I used to really enjoy posting on this site. Some of you are very rude and mean. I don't understand why a civility goes out the window when some people post on a web site. It's really tiring and getting boring.
As I said, I'm sure all the 'anons' out there (or maybe it's just one) will say incredably rude and mean things back. Things they would never say to someone to their face. But I won't respond again. I just wanted to get it out there that i'm really disappointed with those people who think just because we don't see you or know your name (because you won't post it half the time) you think you can say incredibly rude and mean things to others.
As I said, it's getting pretty boring.
