Jessica Simpson: "Hopefully I'm Married in 10 Years"

"I have the dreams of every normal person," she says in a new interview

Her marriage to Nick Lachey may not have worked out, but Jessica Simpson still wants to walk down the aisle again someday.

"I would love to be making records and making babies, and hopefully I'm married in 10 years," she tells Fox News in a new interview. "I have the dreams of every normal person."

In the meantime, she is working on her other "baby" - her her country album, Do You Know, which drops September 9.

On the album, she sings "Remember That," a tune about an abusive relationship. (She has said, "There's nothing on my album ... that I don't relate to or that I haven't experienced.")

"It was one of those moments that just moved me to tears — it's empowering," she says of the song, which she didn't write.

"It's about that woman really standing up for herself in an abusive situation - whether it is mental, physical, emotional," she goes on. "Everybody has dealt with abuse in some sort of way."

She adds, "I thought it was important to tell women to take their heart and run as fast as they can if they're in that situation, because you're better than that."

But things are going swimmingly with Simpson and beau Tony Romo, she says.

"Tony understands me," she tells September's Elle. "He appreciates my talent. He's the first person I've spiritually connected with."

She recently shot down Carrie Underwood's claim that Romo is still calling her.

"If Tony wanted to call her and be with her, he would," Simpson sniped.

The quarterback is the "first person I've spiritually connected with," she says

Jessica Simpson is kissing and telling about Dallas Cowboys quarterback beau Tony Romo.

"Most of the guys I dated were captivated by my heart but they had different ways of trying to get to me," she says in the September issue of Elle.

"Tony understands me," she adds. "He appreciates my talent. He's the first person I've spiritually connected with.”

Romo has been supporting Simpson while she works on her country album. The 28-year-old was booed at her country concert in Randall, Wisconsin.

"It's the cutest thing," she says. "He'll say, 'Jessica, 75 percent of the comments about your new single are favorable.'"

Romo, 28, isn't the only guy Simpson talks about.

"John [Mayer] believed in the Jessica Simpson that's within," Simpson says, referring to herself in third person. "He cherished our love. He helped make me the woman I am today. John is going to be an amazing man for someone, but I know that I was supposed to be with someone else."

She admits she changed after her 2005 split from Nick Lachey.

"I was going through a lot of pain," she admits. "I didn't try anything to change my life other than dating different types of guys and conforming to their worlds. I thought I had to be artsier, more intellectual."

"[My divorce] made me shut down for a while, but now I'm back," she says

Jessica Simpson opened up about her dad during a radio interview in Colton, CA on K-FROG 95.1 Tuesday.

"There have been stories that are ridiculous," Simpson said (Watch above). "Like my father really fit me for a training bra. Like, who believes that kind of thing!?"

The singer was on the show to promote her new country album.

"I really just wanted to showcase the talent that God has given me and I don't believe that in pop music I ever had the chance to stand on two feet and stand firm," Simpson said.

And though her new single "Come on Over" is receiving positive feedback, Simpson revealed, "My greatest fear is failure... failing or disappointing my fans from the pop world."

When asked if she will be wearing a blue jersey to Dallas Cowboys football player beau Tony Romo's games, the singer laughed, "No more pink ones!"

Simpson also touched on the emotional repercussions of her divorce from Nick Lachey.

"With Newlyweds people really got in on my life and got to see my personality on a weekly basis," she said. "Then after going through the divorce and what not it made me shut down for a while, but now I"m back and really confident."
