Tom Cruise is gushing about wife Katie Holmes' starring Broadway role.

"Things are going really well for Katie," he told the New York Post's Liz Smith Thursday.

Cruise, 46, is even helping sell tickets to All My Sons.

"We'll see you on opening night, Sept. 18," he told Smith.

So how's Suri doing?

"She's so charming," Cruise said. "She's so beautiful; she's just great!"

Cruise and Suri aren't the only familiar faces who can't wait to see Holmes take the stage.

When asked at Monday's NYC Fringe premiere if he'll see Holmes on Broadway, former Dawson's Creek co-star Joshua Jackson told reporters: "Of course! Of course!"

Pal Victoria Beckham told Usmagazine.com earlier: "I think Katie's incredibly talented.

"I'm very proud of her to be doing this play," she added. "I'm sure it's going to be magnificent."

Melanie Chisholm says she and her beau "are very happy" to be expecting their first child

"Sporty Spice" is going to be a mommy.

Spice Girl Melanie Chisholm announced on her Web site Friday that she and her beau of six years, property developer Thomas Starr, are expecting their first child.

"Some happy news," she wrote. "I can now announce that Tom and I are expecting a baby and we are very happy."

She follows in the footsteps of her fellow Spice Girls Victoria Beckham, Melanie Brown, Geri Halliwell and Emma Bunton —all of whom are mothers.

Rumors had swirled that Chisholm, 34, was pregnant after she wore a baggy dress during a show in Liverpool last week.

"As I'm sure you'll understand, we needed time to wait for results and tell our families," she explained.

In the meantime, she said she is nursing her other baby: her upcoming solo album.

"I will be taking it easy but am also excited to start writing for the fifth album," she said. "I'll need some time off to be a mum but, before you know it, we'll be back."

Famed fashion critic Mr. Blackwell — known for his annual worst-dressed list — has been hospitalized with a serious illness, his business partner tells the Associated Press.

The 85-year-old Blackwell (whose first name is Richard) has been in the hospital and unconscious since Tuesday, his partner, Robert Spencer, said.

Spencer declined to explain the nature of Blackwell's illness.

For four decades, Blackwell has issued an annual worst-dressed list.

Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham topped his most recent list.

"Forget the fashion spice - wearing a skirt would suffice!" he wrote. "In one skinny-mini monstrosity after another, pouty posh can really wreck-em."

He purposely left Britney Spears off his 2007 list, explaining that her "personal life is in such upheaval. I hope 2008 is a better year for her."

David Beckham didn't mind appearing nearly naked on a huge billboard outside Macy's in San Francisco.

"To be honest I was amazed by the huge billboard poster outside Macy’s department store, but even more amazed by the amount of people who turned up to see it!" he blogs on his Web site.

"I’m always surprised by the amount of attention certain things create, but the attention this campaign has created is pretty incredible," he added.

The 33-year-old soccer stud — who wants more kids with wife Victoria Beckham — said "it was great to meet some of the people who’d come out."

He added, "I’ve always wanted to visit San Francisco, so it was great to finally get there."

The nearly naked soccer stud will appear on billboards across the world

Emporio Armani has released a new sexy shot of its underwear model David Beckham for its autumn/winter 2009 collection.

The new ad will appear on a giant mural in San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles, London, Milan, Rome, Paris and Tokyo.

The soccer stud, 32, admitted he was "so nervous" doing the campaign. (See a photo of his first ad.)

"Around the house we are [comfortable being naked], but when I was doing the Armani shoot I was quite uncomfortable because I've never done a shoot before just in underwear," he told Ellen DeGeneres in April. "I was quite uncomfortable."

Previews for Arthur Miller's All My Sons begin in September

Previews for All My Sons — the Arthur Miller Broadway play starring Katie Holmes — begin September 18, a show rep confirms to Usmagazine.com.

The play will officially open October 16 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre in NYC.

Ticket prices for the Saturday and Sunday matinees will go as high as $116.50, with Wednesday matinees selling for $111.50.

Holmes and husband Tom Cruise are planning to move to the Big Apple during the show's 16-week run, producer Eric Falkenstein has said.

Falkenstein said Holmes has the "exact moral fiber" of her character Ann, a woman who visits the family of her former lover, a missing pilot.

At the first table-read, Holmes "took notes... asked questions... [she] loves being around theater people," Falkenstein said.

"When she signed on, she came here to a bare rehearsal room for a read- through," the producer said. "She didn't ask for anything. She was just sweet and deferential."

Victoria Beckham recently told Usmagazine.com that Holmes is "excited" for the role.

"I think Katie's incredibly talented," she said. "I'm very proud of her to be doing this play."

Victoria Beckham has no doubt that Katie Holmes will blow away critics when she makes her Broadway debut in Arthur Miller's All My Sons this fall.

"I think Katie's incredibly talented. I'm very proud of her to be doing this play," she told Usmagazine.com at Monday's CFDA Awards in NYC. "I'm sure it's going to be magnificent."

Holmes — who, along with husband Tom Cruise, hosted an A-list housewarming bash over the weekend - begins rehearsing this summer.

She plays a woman who visits the family of her former lover, a missing pilot.

She will appear on stage six nights a week.

"She's excited," Beckham added, "and I'm excited."

In the meantime, Holmes and Beckham are relaxing with a little retail therapy.

Asked if they take frequent shopping trips together, Beckham told Us, "Of course, we do! All friends do."

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes opened the doors of their new Beverly Hills mansion for an A-list housewarming party Saturday night.

The couple's celebrity friends Oprah Winfrey, Jennifer Lopez, Brooke Shields, Victoria Beckham, Eva Longoria Parker and Kyra Sedgwick were among the guests.

Holmes' extended family – including her parents – came in from Ohio for the event. Children Isabella, 15, Connor, 13, and Suri, 2, were not there.

Cruise and Holmes purchased the 1.3-acre $35 million estate last summer and spent a year on renovations.

Guests – mostly in black cocktail attire – began arriving around 9 p.m. They were driven up the long driveway to a large fountain by a valet service.

The party was both indoors and outdoors. Over 50 staff members from Wolfgang Puck catered the event, which ended around 1 a.m.

On the back lawn, cocktails and appetizers were served to guests who sat on white couches under heat lamps. The trees were adorned with white lights and an orchestra played music.

Tobey Mcguire (Holmes' co-star in 2000's Wonder Boys), Winfrey's BFF Gayle King, Rita Wilson, Jeremy Piven and Kirstie Alley also attended.

Shields arrived with husband Chris Henchy. The party was held on her 43rd birthday.

Holmes will make her debut on Broadway this fall in All My Sons. (See her hair through the years).
