Siesta Key

Reality series Siesta Key premiered on MTV in July 2017 and was inspired by Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County. The first four seasons were filmed in Sarasota, Florida, and the fifth season, subtitled Miami Moves, was filmed in Miami.

The show follows a group of friends as they spend the summer together in their hometown, featuring hookups, breakups, makeups and everything in between. When the show debuted, Alex Kompothecras was at the center with high school girlfriend Madisson Hausburg. Kompothecras then moved on to Juliette Porter and Kelsey Owens before settling down and starting a family with Alyssa Salerno. Madisson moved on with Ish Soto, a producer from the show’s first season, and the duo married in October 2021.

The series previously sparked controversy after Alex engaged in an act of animal cruelty against a shark and uploaded racist posts via social media. In June 2020, MTV announced that Alex would be edited out of the second half of season 3
