Sandra Bullock appeared in a California court on Friday to request an extension on a restraining order against her stalker, Marcia Valentine.

Orange County Sheriff's spokesman Jim Amormino tells Usmagazine.com: "The first [restraining order] was issued on May 2. It expired on May 11th...that's how temporary it was...today was the hearing to get an extension and a much longer one."

The new restraining order against Valentine, who attacked Bullock's husband, Monster Garage star, Jesse James, in the couple's driveway on April 22, will last for three years. Bullock, 42, and James, 38, had seen Valentine lying in front of their garage door several times before. On this occasion, when James asked Valentine to leave, she attempted to run him over with her car. James was unharmed.

After today's hearing, Bullock and James should have less to worry about. Says Amormino, "Three years is a long time. If Miss Valentine goes anywhere near Ms. Bullock or her husband you can bet that we will take the proper actions."
