Renée Zellweger has had her share of Hollywood heartthrobs, but her love life hasn’t been a Cinderella story. After being linked to Jim Carrey and George Clooney, she found bliss, wedding country singer Kenny Chesney in 2005, only to have the marriage annulled four months later.
But the unattached actress, 38 — who relocated from L.A. to bucolic Connecticut – isn’t sobbbing.
She opened up to November’s Reader’s Digest about being single, keeping in touch with Clooney and her failed union to Chesney.
On staying single for the rest of her life:
“I don’t want to sound cavalier by saying that I’m okay with my situation, because I’m not a frivolous person and don’t take on something of such significance lightly. But there’s good in every situation. It sounds simplistic, but I still have the good things that have always been in my life.”
On her short-lived marriage to Chesney:
“I got married, and I’m not married. Not everything works out like you might hope, and I’m not the first person to have disappointment in my life.”
On her relationship with Clooney:
“He’s a good friend … you know, we have a lovely relationship. I write him six-page e-mails about my political rage, and he writes back, and cares too.”
On why she won’t take on racy roles:
“I don’t want the first shot of the movie to be a close-up on my naked breast because what that leads to doesn’t have a place in my life. “[Older brother] Drew, Dad, Mom, there’s a premiere tonight. You want to come?” I have to keep that in mind.”
On why she left L.A.:
“I wasn’t really into being followed around everywhere by six guys with two-way radios. There’s this whole network. You start to recognize them and it’s like, You’re not invited. I have a fitting, then I have to go meet this director to discuss the next project, then I have an interview, and I’m going to go for a run. And you’re not invited. But they’ll come with you all day. I don’t want to feed the fishes. I also don’t want to be one of those people who are sour about it. So I decided I’d just leave.”

Well, imagine for a moment the possibility that for some there is more to beauty than meets the eye. Some people are turned on by intelligence , ambition and talent , among other things. I know it's hard to believe, but it's true.

Can you be serious? What kind of hateful people can post the acid that is on this site? Ms. Zellweger isn't "flashy" pretty, but she has a quiet, quirky ellegance that makes her appealing to most audience members.
She also has the poise and self-confidence to know whether or not she wants to be married. Why should anyone have the right, besides herself, to speculate about her love life. Not every person on this planet needs to settle down into marriage...or at least not when everyone else expects her/him to. Give the sweet, PRIVACY loving woman some space.
Stop being so petty and bitter to comment on other people and turn that spotlight on your own sad lives.

Renee is an intellectual and grew up in Texas with European parents; not your typical mindless Hollywood trifecta. Her intelligence shines through in all her roles and her work has earned Golden Globes and Oscars from her industry peers.
In 'Chicago' she took on a role requiring singing and dancing, in addition to acting, and again she delivered an amazing performance. The fact that she remains friends when her love relationships end is another indication that her values and character are exceptional.

I think it's just fantastic that everyone here is so gorgeous and physically perfect that they can take it upon themselves to trash another's physical appearance...I'll be waiting for your spread in the next issue of Vogue...
I think she's gorgeous, you may have a different opinion but don't devalue her as a human being because you don't find her attractive, and it must say a lot for an "ugly" women who has had so many successful roles and continues to get more, she must have made it on talent and not sex appeal!
*GASP* oh heaven forbid a woman make it in this world on something other than looks!

No she ain't either! She WISHES! (She said that she has a "crush" on Paul McCartney). For one thing, she is way too young for him. Paul QUICKLY denounced the rumored romance between them. All he did was dance with her at some concert and joined her for dinner afterward that SHE planned, not him. She purposely jumped between Paul and Christy Brinkley when they were seen together. If she didn't care about being single then why is she all in HIS face?

I haven't heard from her in a while. Glad to see she is doing great. I have to admit that I am not a fan since I don't really see her movies (except Jerry Maguire), but acoording to the critics she is a good actress. So I guess she doesn't have trouble getting good roles.
