While doing press to announce her new deal with cosmetics giant Avon on August 1, a wily Reese Witherspoon stashed boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal away in a secret guest suite reserved just for her at the Regent Beverly Wilshire hotel.
The actress, 31 – who reunited with her Rendition costar three weeks ago after a monthlong break – then found time in her busy schedule to grab a private lunch with her 26-year-old man.
After her press commitments were through, the duo spent the night at Gyllenhaal’s Hollywood Hills pad. (“Reese doesn’t have Jake spend the night when the kids are around,” says a source of her daughter Ava, 7, and 3-year-old son Deacon.)
Romantic get-togethers are becoming more commonplace for the couple, who were also spotted having dinner at The Polo Lounge in Beverly Hills July 25.
That should put to rest rumors that Witherspoon was on the verge of reconciling with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe, which one source close the star says is pure fiction.
“If any of her friends thought for a second that she was considering getting back together with that a—hole, they would all set up camp at her house to stop her!”

I hope that Reese & Ryan are trying to work things out. No matter what happened in the past, they are still a married couple and have 2 beautiful children who need them together as a family. They both need to learn from their mistakes, forgive each other and try to do better with their relationship as well as their relationship with their kids. This whole mess with Jake is disgusting and sets a very bad example for Reese & Ryan's kids as well as for other couples out there with kids going through the same thing. I really pray that this all works out that Reese & Ryan work their differences out and come together as a family again. I will pray for them.

Unlike some people here, I don't claim to know what either Reese or Jake is like in real life. They are both my favorite actors, Jake is hot beyond belief and Reese is gorgeous. I think they'd have beautiful children if they chose to, but for now, why don't we just let them (a) date secretly if they are indeed doing so and (b) stop judging them so harshly?
For all of you who said Reese should "stay home and take care of her children"-- jeezus, what century were you born in? And why shouldn't their FATHER have to do the same thing? Here's a newsflash: Reese and her ex seem to be very thoughtful, caring parents to their children. Jake seems to be a doting uncle to Ramona and a godfather to Heath and Michelle's Matilda. For any of you out there who think Reese needs to stay home and be 'just' a mom, think again. Moms all over the world have their own lives and are sexual beings outside of the children. Yet they put their children's needs FIRST. That's what parents should do. But it doesn't mean they should cut off all other aspects of their lives.
The rampant stupidity on this site is astounding.

The crusty old broads that Reese considers friends should take a good hard look at what they are sleeping next to. If one of them did give that quote to US it was totally uncalled for.
Ryan isn't perfect nor did he claim to be but he is being demonized in the press for cheating AFTER he left his wife. He cares too much about her reputation and their childrens' feelings to make an issue about it but seriously how much more crap is he supposed to take?

1. Dont 'feed the beast' by courting the paps or giving them photo opps.
2. Totally ignore the press.
3. Trust only your closest family, friends, colleagues.
4. Take the time to build trust in the relationship.
5. Innocent children's lives come first.
6. Be creative and have fun with the early part of the affair.
Bottom line: both of these actors are brave, very intelligent, don't need to be constantly in relationship to feel complete, and could care less if bloggers on US think they're a cute couple, gay, manipulative, or any of the other wanker opinions expressed below!

US chooses what stories they want to print, I doubt she has anything to do with it. And it seems they are trying to go to great lengths not to be caught together. But...believe what you want since I'm sure you will anyways.
I don't know if I really like them together or not. Both are great actors and seem to be really good, decent and genuine. The test of time will be the deciding factor I suppose.
