It’s amore...again!
In Italy to promote Rendition, Jake Gyllenhaal, 26, and Reese Witherspoon, 31, got cozy just a week after their frosty interaction at the drama’s October 10 Beverly Hills premiere.
The mood thawed on October 19: After checking in to separate $2,000-a-night suites at Rome’s Hotel de Russie -- “It was stressed that they must be staying on the same floor,” a source tells Us Weekly -- the costars (who may have felt free to be seen together since the movie opened) held hands and cuddled as they hit touristy spots like the Trevi Fountain and the Colosseum.
They looked like “a couple on holiday,” says a witness.
And that’s exactly what they wanted. Before cooling off in September after six months of on-and-off dating, “they had talked about going to Paris,” says a source. “This is the European trip they never had!”
And it ended sweetly too: As they arrived in the U.S. October 22, they held hands.

when it gets right down to it, how does their relationship, be it a romance or a great friendship, really affect anyone's lives but those around them? if they are in a romance, good for them, if they aren't and choose to have it appear so, good for them. big whoop. life goes on regardless of the true nature of theirs, or any other stars, relationship.

They are obviously together. You really think that they would stage a relationship AFTER the movie comes out? Doesn't make any sense. They both have similar interests and values, makes sense that they would hook up. I hope that the media doesn't ruin this relatiionship, they are too cute together. Both my favorite actors, too perfect!

The pictures of them in Rome look so posed. Why after all the ignoring each other and refusing to stand next to each other did they do that? It makes no sense. Something is up with them. I don't like it either. I agree with everyone who is calling them out on this.

You have a point. I think it's all in what one chooses to believe. I choose to believe that they *are* a couple who just decided to go public after the movie came out. Others think like you, that this is all a publicity stunt. Still others want to believe Jake is gay. It's like I always say, put five people in a room and you'll have seven different opinions. :)
But hey, if I'm wrong, I'll be the first to admit it.

I think that the viral marketing of this "relationship" and the crazy Gyllenspoon blog are very strange.
Immediately there is a post about how awesome they are after every "disbeliever" posts.
I think its all a planned strategy. Maybe they are together but clearly they have tactics on how to sell it to the public.
I'm still not buying it. I don't like either one of them now.

I thought it was fantastic that they were able to fool the tabloids for ten months! Good for them!
And as for publicity-- if they were just doing it for the publicity, why not just come out and do it, then? They were obviously trying to not have it overshadow the movie. Now that it's out, they can go public. But I can see how *not* going public might pique people's interest even more. Either way, I think it rocks, and I hope they're very happy together. They sure look like they are!
And US weekly-- Jesus, did you eff up on this one. Got my issue yesterday in the mail that said they'd avoided each other like exes at the Rendition premier. LOL, what a way to get the egg off your face-- still perpetuating the myth that they'd broken up, US now says, oh, how wonderful, they got back together! LMAO.

I'm astounded that Jake and Reese's PR people don't think we can see through the "they waited until the movie came out so it must be TRUE LOVE" angle.
They didn't. They pulled a classic "Are They or Aren't They" senario with the press and the blogs for months. Then they did the coy non-denials to peak everyones' interest during the press junkets, then they followed it up with a Tom Cruise-esque Roman Holiday spread in People.
GIVE US SOME CREDIT!!

I'm still astounded at those of you who think they're together for a publicity stunt! If they were, why didn't they go public BEFORE the movie came out? they're both A-list actors who don't need any more publicity. Jake hasn't dated anyone for a couple of years, so why would he fake it now? Why would two such power-people in Hollywood have to fake anything?
And Jesus. Give up on the "Jake is Gay" crap. even if he was, THAT wouldn't be any of your business either. So give off.
