After a year and a half of anticipation, on October 20, friends and family of Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise finally got what they have been waiting for: a wedding invitation. Us has learned exclusively that guests were notified late in the day to be free the weekend of November 16-19. The couple's rep, Arnold Robinson, confirms the wedding will take place November 18 in Italy--"All those details are correct," he says--and tells Us "proper security measures are being taken" to keep the vows private.
The invites are just the latest detail scratched off the couple's "I do" to-do list. Italian designer Giorgio Armani has confirmed to Us that he will create Holmes' wedding dress. "When I am asked by a friend to make a wedding wardrobe, it goes straight to my heart," Armani, who will also whip up Cruise's wedding wear, tells Us. "It really is an honor to play a small role in that milestone moment."
It's a moment that's been a long time coming--Holmes, 27, and Cruise, 44, have been engaged since June 2005. And for months, Cruise's stock answer to wedding-date questions was, "Summer," then, as summer passed, "Soon!" But now that everything is falling into place, a source tells Us, "They are so excited!"

I think it's the age thing....The fact that TC is in his 40s and KH is in her 20s makes him feel young....I mean, look at the trend of his marriages....the ages of his former wives declines as he gets older....it's that simple. And if they were so public about their PDA, why aren't they so public about how they actually met? Come on.

I think Tom is not attractive and Katie is so much a school girl who is lost. I give their marriage two years. I think Nicole Kidman is much prettier. Katie sucks as an actress. Who cares about their stupid wedding! People get married all the time around the world. We need to be looking at other things that are important besides the lives of hollywood couples who do not know the meaning of marriage and commitment.

Well, it's a no brainer that the Catholic church will absolutely NOT bless this marriage. It's almost humorous that anyone would think Tom and Katie would be married by a Catholic church...The Church is pretty clear on divorce. It's not a new rule, been around forever. It's a shame though, especially with her upbringing, that she's been duped into this new religion of her future husband's. I feel for her parents.

I got married in Italy and it was the most romantic place ever! The people are passionate, the food is out-of this-world, the wine divine and the scenery astounding. I think they have made the right decision!

Tom and Kate, Katie, Kit Kat, are under a lot of pressure. It's going to be tough for them to live under a magnifying glass. The only way to keep your relationship, is to keep it personal and private. Tom should have done what he did when he was with Nicole. He kept his life to himself and people respected him more. Now he's all over the place. I feel sorry for Katie, I think she's young and I hope she's able to deal with the life she has chosen. I mean, she had money before and lived a private life. Now the girl can't look out a window without being photographed and making the NY Times. It's funny but in a way we all find amusement in learning what's happening in celebs lives. I guess it's just a real life soap opera. Let's see what happens to TomKat. I agree, I give them 2 years.

the likes of TC think that with a few millions they will buy everything and everyone! he clearly bought NK's silence, not to mention KH's, and all this in the only attempt to shut down the well known gay and sterile rumors about him. and obviously everyone around the shady Suri's 'affaire' must have signed confidentiality papers presumably in exchange of a million or two under the table for their silence. the thing is this time, TC maybe have gone a little too far 'coz too many things don't add up with this whole put-on-for-the-cameras shady masquerade with KH.. and his attempt to fool the public is simply starting to back-fire..
