Rapper Fabolous was shot in the leg early Tuesday morning as he stood in a Manhattan parking garage, MTV reports.
The 28-year-old rapper (born John Jackson) was shot once in the right thigh by an unidentified man who approached and opened fire upon Fabolous and three members of his crew shortly after the group left an NFL Players' event at Diddy's downtown restaurant, Justin's.
Following the hail of gunfire, Fabolous and the other three men hopped into a white Dodge Magnum and sped away, running a red light one block away from the scene of the shooting, which attracted the attention of police responding to the call of shots fired.
According to NYPD spokesperson Sergeant Mike Wysokowski, the officers stopped the car and found two unlicensed, loaded guns, leading to the arrest of all four men. Charges have not yet been filed, but Wysokowski said they will likely include criminal possession of a weapon.
As police continue to search for the shooter, Fabolous was taken to a local hospital where he is in stable condition.
In March 2003, Fabolous was arrested and charged with criminal weapons possession. His most notable hits include "Breathe" and "Can't Deny It.” The rapper recently took part in the taping of VH1's Hip Hop Honors, which airs Tuesday evening.

You can take the boy out of the hood but, you cant take the hood out of the boy. All these people talk about not having opportunities & that's why they do what they do. However, they get the opportunity and the money and they still do the same stuff. They choose to live the life they live. Some choose to get an education and get the heck away from it all. Of course incidents like this gives rap a bad name and actually leaves a sour taste in your mouth as well. If you look at all the rap videos, you will clearly see that they are in the streets with big chains and fancy cars. Half naked hoes and they believe that this is the life. What's sad is those that actually rap about the hood (streets) grew up in the hood. So they rap about experience and what they see around them while growing up. Not a lot of people can relate. Then you have those that rap and speak upon things they have never experienced. Some of these rappers were gang members at one point. Has "Fabulous" ever experienced any gang violence before this incident?? I don't think so. He is what they call a " WANNABE". Tupac is a prime example, he was raised around such elements so of course he can speak of the life he lead. It is a very hard pill to swallow, but unfortunately it is reallity. What are you going to do about it? Who is Fabulous anyway? Is that the guy that was in those ghetto boost mobile ads with the granny's???

It would be nice if rappers started saying relistic things like living on the streets sucks cause you have nothing to eat and your clothes are full of holes and its gets cold in the winter
Or being stoned all the time may seem glamourous and fun but it sux cause half the time i dont know my own name or whats goin on around me
Or being in a gang may get you a lot of friends but to get them you have to be beaten and later after you join the group you get shot at and never know when you could die
Or even I hate not being educated because if it wasn't for the fact htat I can make words rhyme I would have no job unless I work at McDonalds and I will always live with my mother

Please allow me to say...do not get caught up in the stereo types....it's the rapper...not the rap style music. Some rappers, rap about things that will make sense and things people can relate to...which makes their music art.
Other rappers have nothing at all to rap about therefore they have to find a gimic that will assist them in selling some albums...weither it be "the cool gansta" " the flashy pimp" or "the unbelievable man who's been shot 100 times"
Does it give rap a bad name...No. It gives the people who were driving through red lights knowing they were armed with unlisenced weapons a bad name. What was wrong with hiring a bodyguard instead of carrying that midget (the chain) on his neck?
