Us has learned exclusively that country singer and Dancing with the Stars hopeful Sara Evans has decided to quit the popular reality series effective immediately.
A source tells Us that Evans has decided to leave ABC's Dancing With the Stars for personal reasons.
"She is in the middle of a nasty divorce and it is too much for her to keep going," says the source.
When Us spoke to Evans on October 10, the singer gave no indication that she was even considering dropping out or that a divorce was imminent.
"I feel so loved and adored by my fans, and they know how hard I am working and how much this means to me," she told Us. " [My husband] is amazing, he loves it. He just thinks it is amazing to watch the transition of someone who had never danced before to someone who is really enjoying dancing, so he finds it phenomenal."
The announcement of Evans abrupt departure has left her fellow contestants and judges saddened by the news.
"If it is true, it is too bad because dance has a really healing quality to it as well, and I think the family of DWTS could be a great support system for her," says Dancing with the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba. "I watch them care for each other and sometimes it is good to be around people who care about you and I think that would be good for her. But she has to take care of herself and take care of her life, and Im sure she is making a good decision for herself. We will all support her."
An ABC rep could not be reached for comment.

I feel sorry for tony...i hope that tony will find another partner for the competition.....and hope that sarah will find another man for her.
Sara Evans, of course...why not?I say let her and my hubby Tony come bacc and fight the battle.Although she dance slows...but shes alomost to it she tried the best that she can.In addition, who cares if she divorce.. she can date his partner Tony...lol...They two make a good couple....
I love this since from the beginning. But whoever is leaving....its up to the voters and the judges cuz they are the one who made it happen. Well for me....I vote for Cheryl&Emmitt,Mario&Karina,Joey&Edyta...they are the bomb I say...
Sara was a disgarce from the start! She should have been off the show after the first week- she was the worst and everyone knew it. Then 2 weeks ago when Vivica got voted off instead of Sara was ridiculous! If Sara had ANY class and grace she would have said No i don't belong here I'm leaving and Vivica is staying. She isn't even a celebrity, she is only known by 1 group of people and that group is limited. It is SUCH a shame that Vivica and Willa who were spectacular dancers are off now because of Sara's jealousy of them she needed to prove something. Well she proved it alright! Taking away an opputunity for people who actually are good at it and deserve it and then quitting on your own is a disgrace! Just because you can sing doensn't mean that you can dance!
I don't believeitmakes any difference who leaves now or later. I feel that there was a predetermined winner before the show even started and it is Mario.
I really hated it when Willa and Maksim left but she's gone and that's it. Sara should have been gone weeks ago! Only her (music) fans kept her on the show, same as Jerry. Jerry's fun to watch and a much better dancer than I! But his fans are keeping him in the show too, even though he wants to go home.
The more I hear about Sara the more I think she had a much bigger role in her break-up. I think she is trying to make a "first-strike" and get the sympathy vote. I feel sorry for her husband. I had thought he had done something to warrant this attack but have now changed my mind. I'm glad she is gone and will enjoy the show much more now.
Three cheers for Len and Bruno for calling Monique on the carpet for her "solo" and krumping!!! Way to go GUYS!!! Louie is a fantastick dancer and she holds him back.
Doesn't anyone see what a good dancer Joey is and not a PROFESSIONAL like someone else. He is just as good as any of the others and even better I think. His first dance was sooooooooo good.
I feel no sorrow towards Ms. Evans. She discraced herself and has powerful personal responsibility for the pain she claims her children are going through. If you don't want the world to know your affairs - do no tell the world your affairs. Instead of simply getting the divorce, she chose to make it as graphic as possible and to increase the spectacle of the whole thing. Quietly divorcing does nothing for her career and now she has an outporing of sympathy and awareness due to her sad situation. Yet she has the gall to be on television looking forlorn about her poor children. Want to save your children the spectacle? Don't make it a spectacle. It seems clear to me that publicity and establishing herself as a victim are far more important goals than the well being of her children.
I am sure the marriage wasn't perfect and it seems as if her husband is no prize; however, if the same situation had been handled by someone honestly and sensibly committed to her family and kids... we would never have heard of any of this. She mentions talking to her pastor and family, but left out her really important decisions - talking to the media and news outlets and her public relations team planning how to use her life difficulties as a springboard. I am offended by all this and while I feel sorry for her family and the family of the husband, I can't help but feel more bile towards Ms. Evans for her tasteless exploitation of her kids and her failed marriage. I also frankly feel sorry for her husband, lost in all this, I am sure he has a different side to tell as well - there is always another side.
Sara needed to be with her kids. Good girl. I enjoyed watching her dance. I enjoyed watching Willa dance. But NO One should be brought back. I even enjoy watching clunking old JERRY dance! What a fun show!
To the people that made the comment about dumb rednecks and stupid (southern) fans voting for Sara Evans - this just goes to show who the ignorant really are. How sad that we all live in this wonderful country, southerners and northerners alike, and some of us have that prejudice, better-than-thou attitude. I'm from the south and am proud of it. And I don't have that much hate in me to call anyone else dumb or stupid just because they don't live in the same part of the U.S. as I do. Gosh I'm glad I'm not that arrogant and STUPID.

BRING BACK VIVICA AND NICK! This show is supposed to be judged upon "the EXECUTION of DANCE"!
It's nice that people admire certain stars & have physical attraction to some (& heck, from what I read on this site) feelings ... but let's LOOK at the show for what it IS, people ... a DANCING SHOW where people EXECUTE the SKILLS acquired, to PERFORM the proposed DANCE ROUTINES! VIVICA & NICK EXECUTED QUITE WELL! I felt personally that it was an ATROCITY that VIVICA & NICK were voted off! Even the JUDGES were in SHOCK! And Jerry Springer (of ALL people) is STILL Dancing? Don't get me wrong I DO LIKE Jerry, applaud & respect his age factor etc. (he was even a bit more nimble than Harry Hamlin) ... AND I like a few of the other couples. I feel VIVICA & NICK however, DESERVE to return, if return is an option the producers bring to the table, HANDS DOWN! This show is NOT judged on attitudes or whether you may like a certain star or not, outside of the show. The JUDGING is based (or should be judged) SOLEY on PURE EXECUTION!
I am very sorry to see Sarah leave. She is a gracious and beautiful person. Much love to her in this most difficult of circumstances.
As for letting someone else come in and "replace" her, not even. While the situation that is causing her to withdraw was unexpected, that is what happens in life.
However, what I would like to see is the opportunity for Sarah to participate in another cycle of DWTS after the issue of the divorce is finalized.
Much positive energy to Sarah and her family to help them deal with this hoorendous situation.
I commend this woman for returning home to her family at a time like this. She is a very talented artist, and her true fans will be behind her all the way. Many stars would not have had the integrity to step away from positive publicity ; such as Dancing with the Stars, and she is very forthwrite by being commited to herself, family, and fans. People like Sarah have much purpose in life, and it is obvious that she understands where she is most needed. We will greatly miss her, but respect her for her strong family values which are more important than that of a TV program. We will pray for you and have you in our thoughts and prayers.
I was really touch by her comments. It would be a very difficult situation to be in. I feel for her and her family. Life seems to always throw us a curve ball every once in a while. I believe that her role in "Dancing with the stars" should not be replaced, as it would not be fair for someone new to come in a the last minute. Take example: A race car driver stopped at pit stop and found out something that he felt would not allow him to finish the race. Would it be fair to let another race car drive into the race? I don't think so. My prayers go out to her and her children.
I am glad Sara is gone. But what happen to the ballroom dancing???? All they play is Latin music. How about the Fox Trot and more Waltzs. I am sick of them shaking their buts. I hope Joey wins. Bring back Willa.
Look! The producers of this show really don't care a hoot what any of you think about bringing back Willa, or anybody, for that matter! All they care about is the almighty buck! When Sara backed out, it left them with a big hole to fill, that of one less couple to kick off eventually, and ONE WHOLE WEEK of high priced commercials that won't get to be seen, unless they figure out how to plug this gap! Remember that this show had a concept that counted on everybody to stick it out to the end, and I, for one, wonder how they'll fill that missing week? Likewise, I wouldn't be surprised if, should they have to end the show one week early, they end up suing Sara for their lost revenue!
Willa was as much a diva as Fox. Her crap "romance-sham" with Maksim was annoying. She's annoying. I'm thrilled she was voted off and clearly I'm not the only one...otherwise it wouldn't have happened. Watching her grab her chest during her last performance was a joke. Wow. REALLY sexy. Did I mention she was ANNOYING yet? She could hardly hide her bitterness when she got voted off. She was hostile and hid it poorly. She danced well, but wasn't as good as Stacey Keebler last year....Thank you God that such an annoying b is off the show.
What the heck does politics have to do with whether or not Sara is in the dancing competition? It wasn't a political convention she was competing in; it was a dance competition and I think that she did a good job. Granted, she wasn't the greatest one there, but she did well and worked hard.
These people making stupid comments about her must not have children because if they did and they were in the same situation as her, they would have done the exact same thing - the right thing - as she did (if they had any brains!)
She left for personal reasons, so that is as good of a reason as you can get. I wish her all the best.
Sarah is ok. I like Mario and Karina, Jerry and Kym, Monique and Louis, and Cheryl and Emmitt. They all rock!!!

To me the only fair thing to do is not vote anyone off this week and just keep going. I wish sara and her kids all the best and will be praying for her as well as her husband. Republican or Democrat - doesn't matter. The kids are the ones that suffer through it all!!
Come on guys, Jerry Springer cannot dance. Period. Dont diss Sara, at least she put forth the effort. I admire her for trying. That is more than most of us would do. Cant say I would like to do something I have never done before on national television. Willa and max should have stayed and Jerry should have gone home after week one. God bless sara and hope it all works out.
I am sad to see Sara go, I am so surprised she did not go sooner. She is such a great country artist but I am sorry to say her dancing was not fluid and she really just did not give a good performance. I only watched the show because of her. I think that people are voting on their favorite person and not because of dancer improvement and technique. My daughter danced with Mario down in Chula Vista California and he has had dance experiance in jazz as well as ballet, all through high school. He should not even be dancing on the show because he is a professional. Joey on the other hand is working so hard and should win. I saw the look on Sara face when Willa was voted off it was one of saddness. Divorce is not what is happening in her life it is a extreme schedule and family commitment that is her priority. Sara darling you are the Country queen but leave the dancing to the people that lack talent, you have class and grace. Thank God I can now change the TV channel for something with substance, my husband will be so pleased.
i don't think anyone should be called back. they're gone, and for a reason. yes, everyone has their comments and opinions, but what's done is done. get over it. it would be silly to bring anyone back. the show is great with the couples remaining. they all deserve it. even if they don't all have the 'natural' talent. the show is scored the way it should be... 50% judges/50% public. if we couldn't all vote, they wouldn't have a show and viewers wouldn't feel involved. people need to feel like their voices can be heard (which could stir up a whole other can of worms with the "voting" system in the u.s., but whatever). so there you go, more opinions. let the show go on as is. it's great!!
Jerry Springer is a complete clown..Then keeping him on takes away from the show.
Monica and Mario are the best dancers and Joey really gives it his all as well.

Vivica Fox sucked. She was way too conceited and always sticking her nose up in the air. Sara should not be replaced--they should continue the show with the remaining contestants and that's it.
