Tom Cruise turns the big 4-6 today.
"He is spending his birthday with his family at his home in Telluride," a source close to the actor tells Usmagazine.com.
Cruise just celebrated the 25th anniversary of his breakthrough film Risky Business. (He was 19 when he shot the iconic dancing-in-his-undies scene. See more stars in their skivvies.)
"I was always trying to enjoy every moment that I could because I thought, 'If this is the last film I get to make, then at least I lived that dream,'" Cruise recently told Oprah Winfrey.
"I had no idea that I'd be here 25 years later doing this," he added.
Born in Syracuse, New York, Cruise almost became a priest.
"I looked at the priesthood and said, 'Listen, this is what I'm going to do'," he once said to Britain's Sunday Times magazine. "After a year, I decided being a priest was not for me."
(He is now almost as famous for his involvement in Scientology as he is for his movies.)
After a long string of romances - including a marriage to Nicole Kidman (with whom he has two adopted children) - Cruise found love with Katie Holmes.

He married Holmes, 29, on November 18, 2006 just outside Rome in a lavish wedding that, according to Forbes estimates, cost nearly $2 million.

Tom Cruise comes off as a very controlling, narcistic, my-way-or-the-highway,dictating what to wear, how to behave,etc After they meet him all his women turn into something out of the "Stepford Wives". I don't recollect the last time I saw Katie in relaxed clothes the kicking back kind she used to chill out in when single. He gives me the hibby gibbies. Granted some of his movies have been good to watch. but, as a man, I would pass. It is one of those; its nice to visit but, you wouldn't want to live there.

I have one thing to say about this. neither was married when they met niether had to cheat and hide and pretend they werent together and niether displays any form of mental illness or has to have one kid after another to feel good about them selves... nuff said...

I've noticed Katie has been looking tired and gaunt these days. I have nothing against her, just before she always looked so radiant and youthful. I'm not blaming anyone for this either. It may just be bad lighting or aging.

I agree with the comment on Katie's hair and will go one step further. Either cut Suri's bangs so they aren't hanging in her face or buy the poor child a barrette! It makes my face itch just looking at pictures of that little girl with stringy hair hanging in her face ALL the time! She looks like a street urchin.

Everyone wants to know where Tom's other two kids are. Well, how would you feel attempting to do something normal, like go to the store, and have dozens of cameras in your face, people screaming your name, blocking your way? That is the time when these celebs & their families ARE just trying to act normal. They aren't "on" and shouldn't be bothered. And his kids are teens now--probably have no desire to hang with Dad much. Probably at home on MySpace or their computers, like every other normal teen. And I do hope they spend lots of time with their Mom Nicole too; have you ever thought that maybe she is very good at doing normal things with the kids and knows how to avoid the cameras? What, because there aren't pictures of them, this means they are never together? Good grief people.

It is so sad that people are so bored with their lives that they have to bag on the stars and their families. It is a sad day when we can't support marriages and families and instead of wish them well, we hope that one leaves the other, trash the spouse and make fun of the little kids. Cruise did not marry Holmes November 18 in Italy- they were married in a civil ceremony in LA weeks before the party in Italy- because they knew the Scientology ceremony would not be legal- as John Travolta and Kelly Preston had been married in a Scientology ceremony- found out later they were not legally married so then had to get married again legally!
