Clay Aiken is sending well-wishes to American Idol competitor Ruben Studdard, who got married Saturday.
"Ruben is one of the most wonderful guys I have ever known," Aiken, 29, tells Usmagazine.com. "He has such a great heart.
"Zuri is one lucky lady," Aiken adds. "I'm thrilled for both of them as they start this great chapter in their lives."
Studdard, 29, tied the knot with Surata Zuri McCants, 30, in front of 300 guests at the Canterbury United Methodist Church in his hometown of Birmingham, Alabama, Saturday.
The Idol season two winner — dubbed the Velvet Teddy Bear by fans — met McCants, a flight attendant, at a CD signing at a Wal-Mart in Atlanta, Georgia in October 2006.
"I was signing copies of my CD and she came in to get one signed for her friend who couldn't get off from work," he told the Birmingham News. "We started talking, and she was telling me about her friend. But I just looked at her and thought, 'She is so beautiful.'"
Studdard tracked McCants down in the toy department and asked for her phone number.
"We developed a friendship, and about two months later we started dating," Studdard told the paper.

I wish them happiness but...I feel sorry for his wife. She is going to be widowed way too soon. He is the poster child for Americas #1 health problem....obesity. Which brings on self- induced diabetes and heart failure. Sad.

I have been waiting for my comment to be posted,but haven't seen it yet.I suppose when one speaks the true truth your mag doesn't want the truth to be known.As the old saying goes "THE TRUTH HURTS".My comment wasn't nearly as bad or dirty or derogatory as some of the comments your mag posted.Those are the ones that SHOULD have been filed in the garbage can where they belong because of the lies that they spewed forth,& you posted them as truth. You really need to check your facts before you try to ruin some innocent persons life by the innuendoes contained in many of the untrue comments posted.Put yourself in their shoes&see if you would like to read all of the lies that were posted for all to see. I don't think you would like that very much.And then ,again on second thought, maybe you would, because of the money factor.

Congrats to Ruben and Zuri! Best wishes for your happily ever after. I am sure Clay wishes he could have shared your special day but we know he was happy doing what he loves to do, making a difference in a child's life. Look forward to hearing more about his latest trip.

So nice to see a friendship like these two guys have continue so far beyond the show that brought them into public focus. Both grew up in the public eye and deserve a great deal of respect for putting the needs of others ahead of their desire for fame. Rube has a foundation that helps provide music education to children who cannot afford it. Clay has a foundation for including children with disabilities in camp and after school programs. He's also seen some of the most horrendous things a person can witness in his service as a UNICEF Ambassador. He's been to Somalia recently and claims that is the worst situation for children he has witnessed, even worse than the Tsunami aftermath in Indonesia, the restart of childhood and female education in post-war Afghanistan, the horror of children less than ten years old fleeing their homes nightly in Uganda to avoid being kidnapped into involuntary military service, and in Mexico where he and his family helped children who are victims of devastating floods celebrate their holiday.
These two men are people of substance. Indeed, Surata is a lucky lady. WTG Ruben, like Clay, I wish you all the best!
