Heather Locklear has entered rehab for psychological treatment, her rep confirms to Usmagazine.com.
"Heather has been dealing with anxiety and depression. She requested an in-depth evaluation of her medication and entered into a medical facility for proper diagnosis and treatment," the rep said in a statement. "This is a confidential medical matter and no further statement will be released."
In March, TMZ.com reported that a pal called 911, fearing Locklear, 46, was suicidal.
The actress — who recently filmed the Lifetime movie Flirting with 40 — has a daughter, Ava, 10, with ex husband Richie Sambora. (He began dating her ex-friend Denise Richards after splitting with Locklear. He was arrested for DUI in March.)
Locklear is currently dating her former Melrose Place costar Jack Wagner.

maybe she is just now realizing what her republican party and her idol president has done to this country
What an intelligent comment. God help this country if you vote!
To all you mean-spirited stupid insensitive people....SHUT UP!!! the truth is you need help. I live and work in LA in entertainment and to accomplish what Heather has accomplished in her career is near impossible - one in ten-thousand who try make it. I also suffer frm what she suffers from and it's debilitating and unfair. Try and think positive Heather, all the best to you!
I suffer terribly with anxiety and depression.. It is a hurrendous illness which i feel many people do not realise! I was a happy attractive socialable confident witty girl and in one big blow im not that person at all anymore! The list of symptoms and awful feelings are to long to even tell.. Its a living hell! Which i pray eventually will go away! Heather is proof it happens to any of us.. How rich how poor how beautiful how happy how whatever or whoever you are! That nobody should have to live with!!
maybe she is just now realizing what her republican party and her idol president has done to this country
She was pursuing a career in psychology prior to becoming an actress so KNOWS she needs help. Good for her. Facing getting older for most is an inevitable part of life (and better than the alternative) but for gorgeous actresses/actors, it can become a crisis. I wish her the best.
Yes, she still with Jack. And he said he is supporting her 110 percent.
I have viewed many sexy and hot videos and photos at a celebrities singles dating club---------- u k i n t e r r a c i a l m a t c h . c o m --------- where many fans and stars can chat together. And there are many black and white singles who are seeking for ideal match seriously there.
I can't stand that Denise Richards chick. She comes on E with her crocodile tears and lies! This Heather is really suffering with depression and not crying constantly to the public "Look at me, feel sorry for me--nobody understands, waa, waa, whine, whine.." Unbelievable how this idiot destroys everything she touches.
We all know the truth...Heather was kind, opened her heart to a poseur who used it to her advantage to make all her little Bon Jovi fantasies come true. She and her girlfriends are losers and how much do you want to bet she just hung out with Heather to steal her man, steal some style (cuz she has none of her own), and she tried to steal her little girl's heart too but that didn't work. Sick wench--I'm so glad Richie got over you but what an idiot to go with his wife's friend--now he has to drink himself under the table to live with himself. yeah, Idiot, you don't stab your woman in the back like that.
Heather, we all love you and you'll always be BEAUTIFUL and special. :)
Before her divorce she was fine? Not if her husband was / is an off the wagon alcoholic. Her first husband had substance abuse issues too. I don't know about D. Spade, but he seems like a party dude. Something tells me these guys were too mired in their own problems to pay much attention to hers and she liked it just fine in that co-dependant way. The current bf seem like the most normal of the lot. If he works with AA maybe he could see what was really going on with her and encouraged her to get help.
Unless you know what it feels like to have a panic attack or be dangerously depressed, keep your mouth shut. Why are people with closed minds allowed to open their mouths?? maybe she's tripping because this jacked up world is strange and it has to be very surreal for celebs at times. It's like having a beautiful dream that ends in nightmare. I don't know this lady but I'd say behind closed doors she seems to be a thinker and existential depression can be maddening.
Recently I was separated from my hubby of over 10 yrs and it threw me into such a depression, I was almost hospitalized. It hit like a fierce squall at sea and I didn't want to go on either. People kept saying I didn't have that option because we have a child and it's a coward's way out, etc. It didn't help to hear that because now they're just judging you. People have no idea how difficult it is for artists and gifted people to cope with simple everyday life. It's a proven fact that some of us who suffer the most are amazingly talented and if you don't have that outlet and direction to direct that energy, you become increasingly apathetic to life and lose yourself. Leave Heather alone to get better. If Hollywood is going to be so hard on her, maybe she can find another creative outlet (write a book, paint, design,) Hope you get to hit the fairway again Heather. You're not alone. Best wishes.
I wish her the best also.
My heart goes out to her.
The depression and anxiety are no doubt caused by the sad situation she finds herself in.
Most women try hard to hold a marriage together and it's devastating when a husband ruins it through selfishness and stupidity.
Millions of people get treated for anxiety and depression everyday. Who cares???
2 much botox!
The way you think and the things you focus on are going to affect your endocrine system and hormonal balance - so it is really important to focus on positive life goals and not negativity, which can take you into a downward spiral. We all have the power to make positive changes in our life - we are not flotsam and jetsom crashing on the waves - we need to focus our mind and take control of our own lives.
This second divorce is taking its toll on her, poor thing. Before that, she evidently was fine.
Her ex is an idiot in that he put other people/women before his wife. It would have taken so little to keep the marriage happy. Of course, he has problems of his own and the alcohol does not help.
I think Heather really tried to make the marriage work but she could not do it alone, not when the husband is whoring around.
10:56 and 11:31, yes you are right. I don't know much about those problems firsthand, and am very lucky that all my chemicals seem to be properly balanced. My point is simply that thankfully she seems to be using the many resources she has available to her to get back on track. The people I really feel for are those that go through tough situations without any of the advantages she seems to have. I know I sound like a hard b*tch but there's just so darn much to be thankful for in this part of the world, especially for those who don't have to struggle to make ends meet or whatever. Imagine living in a warzone, or in a place without the basic needs of life. Now THOSE people have some real problems!!! When a person has a child(ren) depending on them, they've got to buck up, take their meds, go to counselling, and do whatever else is available to them to try to move on and get back on her feet. She doesn't have the luxury of falling apart anymore, she lost that privilege when she had a child.
9:51 unless you have anxiety and depression, I would keep your mouth shut. Regardless if you are a celebrity or any regular person, anxiety sucks but it's great when you get help and understand what your brain is telling you.
heather is such a classy lady, good luck
i agree with 9:57 the same thing started to happen to me around her age and i did a lot of things to try and get through it naturally, thank god it's getting better, good luck heather, you are not alone
Anyone can be affected by depression. Ditto for menopause and other hormonal issues, and bad marriages. The rich are not immune. They are lucky to be able to afford help, but they are unlucky to be plagued disease and divorce as anyone else, especially if they have to go through it in public.
Hollywood is tough for women of a certain age, especially those who have always been celebrated for their beauty. Look at Farrah Fawcett. Both she and Heather are talented actresses, but most of their roles have focused on their beauty. Hopefully Heather is finally getting the help she needs. It sounds like she has a loving, supportive boyfriend or friend in Mr. Wagner. I read in the Enquirer that he is an AA sponsor. Hopefully he will be able to help in her recovery now that she has finally committed herself to getting serious help for her problems.
Good luck, Heather! You'll do great. Been there and done it myself. You have so much support. Many of us really understand what you are going through! You are amazing, talented, and above all the rest. I am rooting for you! You are the "real deal." Keep the faith.
I remember Regis was asked one time, with all the women who were on his show over the years, he has seen many without make-up, who did he think was the most beautiful without it, he said Heather Locklear.
9:51 you must not know anything about depression or anxiety. They can be chemical imbalances and have nothing to do with how good of a life you have, how beautiful you are or where you live. Some people who know what a great life they have have depression and anxiety and they themselves don't understand why. My thoughts and prayers are with Heather.
Heather Locklear has been a fixture on TV since she starred on 2 TV series at the same time, which I believe were "Dynasty" & "T.J. Hooker" in 1982. She still looks very beautiful every time her shows are rerun somewhere in America, and is one of those Hollywood stars who hasn't aged one bit. At this difficult stage in her life, here's hoping she can pull herself together and take care of whatever is bothering her. I think she's simply at a crossroads in her life.
Maybe it is hormone changes from menopause.
Maybe she fears getting older.
I have to say, it's tough to feel sorry for Ms. Locklear. What kind of chance do the rest of us have when someone who has a lucrative career, a lovely daughter and world-class beauty still can't be happy. It must be something to do with the reason that so many of these celebrities went into showbiz in the first place. Insecurity, attention-seeking, poor self-esteem.... I hope she can get the help she needs so she can get her sh*t together and appreciate how fortunate she really is. This is probably going to attract a ton of bashing for my insensitivity, but come on! She comes off as a little bit spoiled in my opinion. I guess even though I'll never have 1% of her advantages, I'm actually better off than she is. Weird.
