Wow....Spike...you are right on the money. I watched Newlyweds and all I saw was Nick putting Jessica down and treating her like she was a "dumb little girl." He never said, "Wow Jess, your idea is really great!" No, even when she messed up on cooking, he did not comfort her, he said, "Follow the directions!" Wow, as if she did not know that. He even decorated the house without her. Jessica was used to living a certain way. She should have been able to have a maid help her. She did earn some money too!

1. I do not think that Nick treated Jessica as well as people seem to think he did during their marriage. For instance, even if Jessica was making a valid point, Nick would focus on a surface error (such as a mispronunciation) and mock her mercilessly. He used this approach to win arguments a lot on Newlyweds, instead of really listening to what Jessica was trying to say and compromising. 2. While Jessica's acting may be overdone, she is not talentless. She truly does have a good voice and is a charismatic performer. Even if you do not enjoy the fluffy pop she sings, she has an extremely large vocal range and a quality tone. She is also able to sing jazzy runs, which is difficult to do. 3. Nick is getting far too much sympathy from women. Women can be very quick to turn on one another, but Onchi made a good point when she brought up Nick's inappropriate behavior involving strippers, among other public indiscretions that circulated well before any of the rumors of Jessica's ALLEGED infidelities. It should be noted that Bam and Johnny Knoxville both denied any physical relationship with Jessica Simpson, and Bam added that his ex-fiancee was just plain crazy. 4. I think Nick is blatantly trying to capitalize on his divorce and arouse pity in the public. All his songs take a "poor me" perspective. Poor Nick is right- you were always getting wasted, watching strippers perform sexual acts on one another, and flirting with girls in clubs while you were married. And right after the divorce, you waited a whole two minutes before bedding Lizzie Arnold, Kristin Cavallari, and Minillo. While Jessica knows that a heartfelt ballad about her heartbreak and some regretful interviews about the demise of her marriage would have gained her ground in the sympathy war that Nick initiated, she is too classy for that. She has wisely opted not to speak about her divorce or even tell her side of the story, although she would probably profit from it monetarily.

Listen, Jessica Simpson is a really smart person. She used her popularity and used it towards selling cds and making products and clothes. She is really smart in real life. She just used the Newlyweds tv show to her advantage. I'm surprised that Jessica doesn't get a lot of support from her fans. Nick was the one who made an album about the divorce and what went wrong. Its so stupid of him. How many people bought his previous album when he was married? People just bought his album because they felt sorry for him. Who will last longer in the entertainment business? Its obvious that Jessica will. She's has more hit songs. The only way Nick will be big again is if 98 degrees gets back together. Geez...... Will all the Jessica Simpson haters shut their mouths...for once!

I bet Papa Joe had Jessica thinking the public was going to be in HER favor after the divorce... WRONG...

I['m home with a broken leg and just discovered this whole world of blogging! What fun! I'm reading about this whole romance with John Mayer that Jessica Simpson fabricated and it makes me laugh that someone so pretty could be so desperate! The irony of this whole thing is that Jessica made up a romance with John Mayer to sell records and it backfired. Her album won't sell because from the few songs I've heard, it's low-quality and for lack of a better word "cheesy" and she doesn't have enough substance to sell that kind of music like Madonna did in the eighties. Meanwhile, John Mayer's probably gonna sell more records than ever because she basically introduced him to a whole new audience of people and the average vapid celebrity weekly magazine reader is going to discover what quality music sounds like and probably love it. Did she really think that it would work the other way around and that John Mayer's audience was going to embrace her? Of course not, they know talent and real music when they hear it and a Jessica Simpson album doesn't resemble either of those traits. Sounds like a really botched PR campaign to me... oh well. I hope she's saving her money. The future for her looks like Farrah Fawcett's present life to me...

And to the people who said to leave Jess alone. I'm sorry, but this is a free country. That is why there are blogs. To write whatever we want.

I think that all you females are jealous of her. She's a business woman and puts on a show acting like a ditz. Us guys don't buy it, but we enjoy the flirtatiousness. We do buy her very talented voice and her ridiculously sexy face and RIDICULOUSLY SEXY body. Hence, she's on TV. Magazines aren't creating her...Its men that are creating her (and teeny bopper girls).

I don't understand why the celebrity magazines always put this girl on the cover. She's 100% their invention. That's why she has such poor albums sales. The public doesn't like her, we just get her shoved down our throats and it's annoying. She has zero substance. She's like PAris Hilton--a lot of nothing.

I absolutely hate Jessica SImpson. I never liked her to begin with, I thought she bahaved like an immature, spoiled, idiot on Newlyweds. I didn't find her selfishness or her lack of intelligence, funny or cute. I found it embarassing and irritating. I always liked Nick, and I knew that the relationship would never last. Im glad that he seems to have moved on with some one who is a little bit more like him, layed back and down to earth. Jessica just doesn't seem to realize that her 15 minutes were up a long time ago, and now she is just embarassing herself even more. She can't sing, she sure as hell can't act, and she has nothing intelligent or important to offer people. She needs to go away for good, and take her talentless insecure sister, and her creepy dad with her. I think we've seen enough of the SImpsons for a lifetime.

I think she should rekindle her friendship with Vanessa and steal Nick back. That would be an excellent Lifetime movie.

Something is weird about Jess and Joe. Maybe she should bond with Michael Jackson. He might can offer her some help and guidance her with "DJS" (daddy joe syndrome).

I can't take seeing Jessica's pro-actively annoying face one more second!!! She is talentless and ridiculous and no one, NO ONE, should take her seriously or give her anymore attention. She's like a little annoying kid that won't shut up. To those of you who said that you did not see the interview but the quotes don't sound that bad...well...i guess you had to be there. The interview was TERRIBLE. If that was me and I saw that episode air, I wouldn't be able to leave the house for months...She sounded like she came right out of a trailer. The girl has no class and no charisma. I felt bad for Jay Leno, he looked like he could use a drink...

She is aging rapidly and trying to be sexy at the same time. She looks really gross without makeup.

I know her album just came out, and she has been doing a lot of press but I'd rather hear about someone else. This Jessica overload needs to stop.
