Pregnant singer Ashlee Simpson's summer tour is on hold.
"After careful consideration, Ashlee Simpson has decided to postpone her summer tour," her rep said in a statement. "She is committed to giving her fans the best show possible, and will be back better than ever and ready to rock in the future."
On her MySpace page, Simpson blogged, "The truth is I want to put on an amazing show for you the next time I come to your town. I promise I will be back, better than ever and ready to rock out."
On Thursday, the 23-year-old confirmed that she's expecting her first child with husband Pete Wentz, 28. Usmagazine.com first broke the news in April.
The couple hit the opening of the Palms Place Hotel & Spa in Las Vegas with Jessica Simpson (sans on-again, off-again beau Tony Romo) on Saturday night.
At the end of his stint as DJ, Wentz gave a shout-out to his "baby mama." He also decided the Huey Lewis song "Power of Love" to his father-in-law, who was at the party with wife Tina.
"Yo, yo yo! This goes out to Joe Simpson, my new father-in-law," he told the crowd. "I feel the power of love for you and everyone else should too."
Wentz also played his wife's song "In My Head."
This week Wentz apologized to MTV for keeping their pregnancy news under wraps.
"We wanted to wait until after the first trimester and get a clean bill of health from our doctors before confirming anything, just like any other couple," he emailed MTV.com.
"Being a boy I have no idea how to respond to such things and my first instinct was to protect her and the baby," he added. "I apologize to anyone who felt misinformed but the truth is, the person and growing baby is who I felt most loyal to protect and defend."

I respect their wishes about waiting to tell anyone until it was all clear and healthy.
Would you wanna tell everyone your pregnant then have to tell them you had a miscarriage and have to hear people hounding you with miscarriage questions every time you stepped out of your door?
They did the right thing
and remember they're just like everyone else don't judge them when you dont even know them its pathetic

I don't blame her for postponing her tour. Lip syncing while pregnant is very difficult! With a little luck she may find it tough to do while being a mom too and just go away!

Poor ticket sales, not pregnancy, cancelled this show. Christina Aguilera and Jennifer Lopez---both were pregnant and performed. She's not citing her pregnancy as the reason, but I think she should assess her career options.
Pete, on the other hand, is very talented. He writes most of the lyrics for Fall Out Boy and his tunes are not only catchy, but intelligent.
I do wish them the best, but this goes to show - manufactured pop stars do not last.
Out of the Spears, Simpsons, and Aguileras of this world, I think Christina Aguilera will have the most staying power. I was hoping Britney would forge something like Madonna, but Madonna actually writes her songs and has a good voice; Spears has "co-written" some songs, but she's so overproduced, it's disgusting.
If you need proof of Aguilera's talent, look no further than her performances with Tony Bennett and Herbie Hancock.

Can't wait to see how many of you perfect ppl post something negative about this young couple. Oh I wish I was as perfect as so many of the US bloggers who have lived such regret and mistake free perfect lives and feel that this give them the right to judge and trash others. Tho I'm not a fan of either these 2 the seem happy and god forbid ppl just leave them alone and let them live thier young lives as they wish
