Britney Spears' second guest appearance as a receptionist named Abby on CBS' How I Met Your Mother aired Monday night.
"The door is still open for her to come back," co-creator Craig Thomas has said.
Spears' second appearance improved HIMYM's viewership versus the previous week (9 million compared to 8.3 million, according to overnight ratings) but was lower than her first appearance.

HIMYM is my all time favorate show, and whenever i watch it i am laughing from begining to end, but this last episode with britney in it sucked. I was actually really excited to see her in this show and i was bummed out, it wasnt good.

I think it's great that you all want her to do well and get her life back together, I do too because I wish everyone to have the best life they can. But come on, seriously, she is a HORRIBLE actress and needs to stick to her singing and dancing career!!!!!

She is an absolute horrible actress and the only reason they have her on the show is to boost the ratings. I am not saying she is bad because I don't like her, she is just a horrible actress. She isn't funny at all on the show, not saying I can do any better but come on people, don't say she was good just because you like her or feel sorry for her.

I'd like to rebute comments made by others that Britney has no acting skills. Duh! She is only a singer? Have you seen Jessica Simpson act? Worst worst worst ever and she is trying to become an actress. Leave Britney alone and watch a different show! I love her!

I watched both episodes that Britney was on and they were by far the two worst episodes of this show. She has no acting skills at all and brings absolutely nothing to the show. You can tell they are accomodating her with the scripts, the normally hilarious show is the least funny it's been. I hope beyond all hope that they don't allow her to come back. She's a sitcom black hole, she sucks all of the funny out of it...

People want to publicize Britney's downfall and parenting. I work in the Court system, and the amount of unfit parents is astounding. The only difference is that theirs isn't in the public eye like hers was. She grew up too fast and never really learned how to be just an average person/kid. She's doing what she has to do to get it together. It's not easy because the stupid photogs want to catch her doing something bad so they can report it. And it's now so much as wanting her to have a comeback. I would love to see her go about a somewhat normal life being a parent to her kids and maybe doing a little acting here and there. Britney has too much talent for the producers not to keep her on the show. America loves her and wants her back stronger than ever.
