Britney Spears' sitcom comeback Monday night was met with warm reception by critics.
“She did pretty good” playing a dorky receptionist who falls for Ted (Josh Radnor) on CBS’ Hot I Met Your Mother, Charna Halpern, artistic director of Chicago’s Improv Olympic Comedy Club, tells Usmagazine.com. “There was a sweetness to her, a vulnerability.
“She looked beautiful and had screen presence,” adds Halpern, who has trained such comedians as Tina Fey. “Even when she was behind the desk and they made her look kind of homely, she was adorable.”
Her comedic timing “was good at some parts, especially in some of her reactions,” Dean Cudworth, director of the Idol Camp, tells Us.
Cudworth said the scene where she handed Ted an embarrassing self-help book he had left in the lobby “really worked because she was relaxed,” Cudworth said. “She was listening to the other characters and played off their performances with ease.”
Her role was “over the top, and she certainly went for it,” Aliza Shane, director of NYC’s Looking Glass Theater, tells Us. “Clearly, she likes being on camera, no one can argue that!”

I don't believe her acting stood out from anyone else who has made past appearances on the show. However, I do believe she's off to a good start by keeping herself busy with little roles here and there and staying out of trouble. I also think it's great she got rid of those toxic people in her life like her cousin Ali Sims (who is said to be coming out with her own album) and that controlling freak of Sam Lufti. Baby steps is what's going to take for this girl to actually have a real 'come back', not just one simple acting gig in ONE episode of a TV show.

All of you who are posting negitive, just think first.She is a human being with a very soft heart. Yes, she put herself in the spotlight but that doesn't mean she should have to suffer the rest of her life for the mistakes she made when she was SICK.Key word, sick. It effects her different because she is so ... human.She is trying so hard to do better and improve her life.Working, doing what she knows, is a good thing, healing, just like it is for you and me when we normal people have our problems. A step in the right area.I'm proud of you Britney!The show was awesome! Your doing a great job!Your fans still and will always love you, this includes us thirty somethings with kids, cause we have been there, done that too!

She was funny and very cute. I wouldn't know cause I don't know her personally, but she seems to be coming around and getting her life on track. No one knows what she is doing as far as her children go as she is a little more reserved now. Britney needs to make a comeback TO HER KIDS. Get her off tv and out of the PITY spotlight. She shouldn't be REWARDED for being a horrific mother and irresponsible DRUG ADDICT. If she is truly sick, she should be getting help ---not trying desperately to be back in the spotlight. Move on Britney and be a freaking MOTHER to your kids.

Personally I bashed the hell out of Britney, and I still think she's got a lot of maturing to do. Though I gotta admit, once the garbage (leeches) was taken out of her life, she started coming around. I think psycho Britney was due to all these freaks pumping her with all these diff. drugs & influencing her to do stupid crap.

I hate to admit it, but I actually thought she was very funny, and wasn't so bad as an actress. Her music career needs to go on the backburner for awhile, but, I honestly think that if she gets her own sitcom, it'd work. Not with the premise of being a pop star, or anything close to her personal life, but she's got something there though.

She really isn't a great actress, remember Crossroads anyone? I mean really she didn't outshine anyone on the show or any other celeb who could've filled in that role. Face it, Brit has been such a train wreck this last couple of years that we will applaud ANYTHING she does that looks remotely normal. The smallest act of sanity from this chick and everyone is ready to call her "comeback ready". Not me. Show me more.

I thought Britney did a fantastic job. She was funny. "How I Met Your Mother" had its first highest ratings ever and made the show the 4th highest rating show of the night, so obviously a lot of people had a lot of interest in seeing the show. She's not trying to win Oscar gold here people, she just made a cameo, she isn't some Meryl Streep or something, so everyone can just relax. The show should write her into a few more episodes, she'd do really good for that show, and besides I heard "HIMYM" was going to get panned soon, so they were smart to make a great marketing attempt and get one of the world's biggest stars on their show. Britney may create a following to come and watch the show, you never know.

Britney is so great on this show considering everything she has gone through , She will go on to be the most famous Singer of all time!
