Dallas auditioner Castro says Simon Cowell’s his favorite judge – but lucky for him the Idol judge has had nothing but great things to say about his performances.

Often seen performing with his guitar, the dreadlocked singer also appeared on the short-lived MTV reality series Cheyenne, which chronicled the rise of teen pop performer Cheyenne Kimball. Castro appeared in Kimball’s first music video, “Hangin’ On.”

Prior to his time on Idol, Castro attended Texas A&M University as a landscape architecture major.
