I think Jamie should have been having protected sex! Bu she made a mistake so get over it! Hopefully she will decide to keep adn love and nurture her baby! Iknow it may be tough to have a human life to take care of at the age of 16 but i believe she can do it,and i hope she gets guidance from her family to make the right decisions for her baby! And for Brit. i know she has made some pretty bad mistakes in her like but i believe she can fix them and start out fresh being a good loving, caring mother I hope she starts to show her kids she is sorry and she loves them! Okay, here's the deal. The spears family is kind of messed up. I never thought Jamie Lynn Spears would have a baby. I thought she was different from her sister. But whatever. She should not be on any covers of a magazine. Nobody whats to have a 16 year old pregnant girl on any cover of a magazine a 14 year old is reading like me. i think that abortion is appropriate in certain situations. this is not one of them. the spears family is more than capable of providing for this child, however, i think they shouldnt have let this happen to a 16 year old child in the first place.

I totally agree that teenage pregnancies can work, the attention she gets is because shes famous - but that fact doesnt make it ok. In england we pay TAX which goes towards income benefit for young girls who have babies and cant suport them financially. so I dont really care about her situation, what bother me though is that at 21 im at university and the influence of these publisised pregnancies gives teens the impression that its ok that have unplanned kids for what 'seems' the sack of it. The more a behaviour is condoned the more it happens. I dont disagree with young mothers just unwanted/unplanned pregnancies. at the end of the day for jamie she has the money to support this child with or without the father, but the majority of teens wont. yes, teens have sex but i think the number is overstated because a lot of them like to brag and from the people at my school, not that many had at 16 - and it is influenced by family, friends, the media and general public perception. Im not saying to start a campaign against underage sex or teen pregnancies but next time you say its 'normal' or everyone does it, think that your encouraging it. when i was at school the amount of 'its normal' talk made me feel arkward later to find out most teens werent ready and felt pressured - those who did some told me they REGRETTED IT. Just think!

This from a magazine that promotes sexuality and the ability to attract and please a man as its main premise. This is exactly the kind of thing the teen mags are asking for. Putting appearance, sexuality, and beauty forward as the most important characteristic a girl/ woman can have is just asking for teen pregnancy.

Get a grip! Teenage pregnancies happen everyday. The answer is to talk to your kids. Knowledge is power. I don't belive in codemning this young woman is the answer. I hope she ends up a better mom than her sister.I hope Brit gets it together. My aunt was a 16 y/o mom & my uncle was 18. They've been married 48 yrs with 4 other kids.

nobody is saying the baby is a mistake on here....they are saying the underage sex is a mistake.

I had an abortion and guess what. I survived, intact, with no mental issues. 15 years later, I am happily married and have 2 wonderful kids. I got pregnant when I was 18 (carelessness on both parts). My boyfriend at the time turned out to be a real creep. I was one of 4 girls he knocked up at various points (one twice) and I found out later he was a cheater. At any rate, I was in college at the time and just wasn't ready to have kids. I also didn't want to go through a pregnancy and give my own child away. I think the trauma from that far outweighs that of abortion. While I don't agree with using abortion as a method of birth control and I wouldn't want to go through it again, it has its place.

As for JamieLynn, 16 is much too young to be a parent. But she's rich and her child will be well provided for. I just question the moral values in that family and I hope JamieLynn lives a less chaotic life for the sake of her child. I don't "applaud" someone for choosing to keep their child. It's a matter of choice and everyone does what works best for them.
