The Beverly Hills surgeon who performed a breast reduction and tummy tuck on Kanye West's mother Donda before she died has had two medical malpractice judgments against him for about $200,000 each, according to California Medical Board records obtained by Usmagazine.com.
Jan Adams confirmed to TMZ.com on Monday that he performed the operations on Donda — who passed away Saturday at age 58 following complications from surgery — after consulting with her for four months.
The operation lasted eight hours, twice as long as expected, according to TMZ. But Adams said her death was unforeseen and could have been caused by other medical problems.
But in June, Us reports in its upcoming issue, West had met several times with Beverly Hills surgeon Andre Aboolian.
His rep told the Associated Press that Aboolian had declined to operate on West because of a pre-existing condition that could have caused a heart attack during surgery.
He advised West to get a clearance from a second internist.
His publicist, Jo-Ann Geffen, told the AP Aboolian never heard back from the rapper's manager mom.
An autopsy was conducted Tuesday and the results are still pending, Lieutenant Fred Corral from the Los Angeles County Department of the Coroner told Usmagazine.com.
UPDATE: The Medical Board of California filed legal papers last April asking to revoke or suspend Adams' medical license because of two DUI convictions in 2006 and 2003, TMZ.com reports.

First of all I think some of you need to stop making any comments about his mother. She did not do this to lose weight breast reduction is for woman with large uncomfortable breast. You can not lose that by exercising.Secondly, tummy tuck is not for weight lose many people have had surguries that leave their stomach muscles messed up to the point where exercise can not take that lose skin away. Everyone need to keep their negitive opinions to their self. The main ones on here talking about his mom being ugly I would like to see your mom. There is not that much hate in the world for people to make comments like this. its enough that his mother died due to complications to what society has made this world evolve around being perfect. Yes god made you how you are and that is satisfying enough but to others your appearance is so important in the world.I lost my mother and I understand what it feels like and it does not matter what his mother looked like. She was the one who raised him since he was 3 years old on her own she did a good job she had a talented son regardless who likes him r not. This is not a black or white issue its cosmetic surgery that is stupid.For the person who said she is a ugly person so r you for making such rude comments like that I hope Kanye reads this and take his money to find out who wrote the negative comments and beat there a**.Would u like someone to talk poorly about his mother and you dont no her she may have been a good person I wonder what your mothers would think sorry b****.

It is a shame when people try to lose weight the new and easy way. What happen to pure exercise and dieting? Yes, it is a shame that his mother past away, but the important thing is we all can learn from this bad experience. For all the people that are posting bad commemnts have a heart. Jan Adams is a board certified plastic surgeon. Show me a surgeon 15-20 years in practice and zero lawsuits or investigations, and I'll show u a surgeon who doesn't operate very much!! To insinuate that Kanye somehow gave permission or forced his mother to have plastic surgery is pure idiocy and an insult to his mother. She was a grown woman who made her own decisions.
Guess what guys.... it's surgery. Its not a visit to the nail salon or hairdresser. The surgical procedure can go perfectly. SHe can have an uneventful time in the recovery room and go home feeling a little sore, looking healthy and feeling well. In a matter of seconds after being home, a blood clot can travel from her thigh, go through her heart and lodge in the
main vessel supplying blood to her lung, and she can be dead. With a heart attack, she can be dead in seconds. SHe could have had medical clearance and a stress test from her internist and still died, and no one would have done anything wrong. These are called COMPLICATIONS; which are usually always explained to patients before surgery. She most likely signed a multipage form explaining the risks, which she apparently accepted. Most patients accept the risks because most don't think it will happen to THEM...someone else maybe..but never themselves.
The human body is not a machine or a car. Thats why u run from surgeons who give guarantees or warranties, because
docs never have ALL the answers. Thats why medicine should be practiced with both confidence and humility...but never
overconfidence; nor a stifling fear either. It's science...not math or engineering. 2+2 does not always equal 4....because of the human element. BOTCHED surgery???....I don't think so. Just a plastic surgery nightmare.....flat tummy/perky breasts...dead patient! For all concerned..patient/family and doctor, it doesn't get much worse.

It'll be interesting to see what the autopsy results are. I know for a fact that ANYONE over age 40 (I think it's 40) has to have a physical as well as cardiac clearance b/f surgery...so if this physician completely overlooked the results of these tests (which may have red-flagged this patient as a surgical candidate and it sounds like this is the case) he's screwed and tattooed!

Wow, this whole situation is very sad. Even though I've never liked Kanye, my condolences go out to him and his family.
This tragedy underscores the fact that surgeries are not without risks. For some reason, people these days seem to be under the impression that if they're not having open heart surgery, they're not going to be at risk for any complications. Furthermore, it's the patient's responsibility to research their physician's history. This doctor CLEARLY had red flags such as malpractice judgements against him, personal issues with DUI's...and the fact that he WAS NOT a board certified plastic surgeon. He was a board certified physician, but not a board certified PLASTIC SURGEON. Big difference.
