Andy Samberg, Adam Levine, Jake Gyllenhaal Spoof Iran Prez on SNL

Andy Samberg, Adam Levine and Jake Gyllenhaal lampooned Holocaust-denying, homosexual-decrying Iran president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Saturday Night Live this week.
Samberg performed a hilarious R&B love song titled “I Ran” in homage to the Iranian president (played by Fred Armisen), featuring lyrics like, “You ain’t wrong to me, so strong to me. You belong to me, like a very hairy Jake Gyllenhaal to me.”
Meanwhile, Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine gamely lent an overemoting chorus to the video, crooning, “And Iran, I ran so far away. Because you’re home, in my heart you’ll stay…”
President Ahmadinejad gave a controversial speech at Columbia University last week in which he made the claim, “In Iran, we don’t have homosexuals like in your country.”
The 29-year-old SNL funnyman took a shot at the statement in his serenade, singing, “I know you say that there are no gays in Iran, but you’re in New York now, baby!”
Also up for ridicule was the president’s assertion that the Holocaust is “a myth.” Samberg tones, "You can deny the Holocaust all you want, but you can’t deny that there’s something between us.”
At the end of the video, the real Gyllenhaal pops up for a cameo, fluffing his beard and flashing the double peace sign as the crowd bursts into laughter.

Oh dear, oh dear... I am NO fan of Ahmadinejad, but I was more horrified at the uncivil and belligerent manner in which this leader of another country was treated, while here as our guest. "The Ugly American," perhaps? Yes, Ahmadinejad sounded ill-informed and laughable, at times, but as my husband is Iranian-born, I know they are a very proud and kind culture at heart. We, as Americans, should have shown more class and delicacy.

I am from Iran and while I am not a fan of Ahmadinejad I have to say that what Columbia University did was in poor taste. You don't invite someone to speak at your school and then when introducing him call him all kinds of names. Then why invite him? Also, he did not say that Iran does NOT have homosexuals he said that Iran does not have homosexuals like America does meaning they're not out and open with it (cause they would probably get killed but that's another story). Translation was incorrect. Just saying, facts aren't correct.

And why can't we see this? B'c the TOOLS who run SNL (yes, Lorne,I'm including you) have pulled all the clips. Free publicity in the offing for this crappy show, and they pull it, just like they did with D**K in a Box and Jake's
fantastic Dreamgirls monologue. HELLO, SNL, IT'S CALLED "NO PUBLICITY IS BAD PUBLICITY!" jeez, isn't that the first thing you learn in marketing school?

The Iranian President is a complete nut job. He is trying to acquire nuclear weapons because he wants to destroy Israel. He said Israel should be "wiped off the map." These days he is arming insurgents in Iraq. He denies it, but American forces are being shelled with Iranian mortars and rockets all the time and Iranian agents have been captured in Iraq. He is truly crazy. He is gonna get it one of these days if he doesn't watch his step.
