WHO CARES WHAT THE PUBLIC OR ANYONE FOR THAT MATTER THINKS. WE ARE THERE 24/7...AND PLUS BREASTFEEDING IS HARD WORK. SHE PROBABLY DID NEED A BREAK.

Nicole Richie took a mini break from mommyhood this weekend, hitting four parties in two days.
Wearing a gold and diamond "H" necklace, the new mama, 26, and beau Joel Madden kicked off their weekend Saturday at the opening of the Eli Broad Contemporary Art Museum in L.A., where she told Usmagazine.com her newborn daughter "is doing great!"
The two then moved on to Clive Davis' pre-Grammy bash at the Beverly Hilton Hotel — but they didn't stay for long.
"We have to get home!" Madden was overheard telling a friend at 11:40 p.m. "[Harlow] only sleeps three hours at a time. She's with Grandma now, but if she wakes up..."
The next night, Richie and Madden popped by Entertainment Weekly's post-Grammy party at 10:40 p.m.
Richie, wearing a flowy bohemian dress, munched on chicken satay kabobs.
After about an hour, they met up with Madden's bro, Benji, and moved on to the Sony BMG party (band Good Charlotte is under the label) at the Beverly Hills Hilton at 12:10 a.m.
Richie leaned on Madden's shoulder and held his hand as he worked the room.
She sipped on a tiny glass of champagne at 1:12 a.m. before heading home to check up on Harlow at 1:48 a.m.

It's fine if she has a glass of champagne between feedings. I had a drink every once in awhile; I just had to wait long enough for the alchohol to leave my system. It takes about an hour per drink. They eat every 3-4 hours, so give the girl a break. Being a new parent can really wear you down and getting a chance to be around adults can do wonders for a new mom.

I think she would be a worse mom if she hit 4 parties in 4 hours, she did nothing wrong, she probably took a much needed break from the baby.
If you don't have kids, I can see where the narrow-mind set would come into play.

i think that she has the right to go out and have a little fun i mean she has been pregnant for nine months. and i think anyone would need a little break and have some fun. i think that she will be a wonderfull mother , and her daughter is very lucky to have a mother so devoted to her. i really hope that things go very well for her and Harlow. shes such a cutie.

One of the parties they went to Joel was DJing at because the party people said they would give money to his charity.
Another of the parties was for Joel's label.
One party Lionel Richie was performing at so Nicole was supporting her father.
So REALLY they only went to ONE party that wasn't work/family related.

Actually, having a glass of wine can be good during pregnancy. Do you know that she is breastfeeding? Get over it,,,why do peeps judge so much?! For a 'free' country, we certainly don't live and let live. We try to tell everyone else how they shold be living!

Shes just taking a break. Us! needs to lay off a bit becasue i know a newborn baby is really difficult to be patient with and stuff so she deserved a little break. Besides, its technically her job to do go to publicity things like this. SO Us! needs to layoff.

What is so un-normal about it?
She went out for a little while. My guess is you don't have kids so therefore it is okay for you to pass judgement.
When you have a kid which I sincerely hope you will be blessed with at least one, trust me you will want a break from the baby, that does not Nicole a bad mother, it makes her human.

A few hours out does not make for a neglectful parent. Going out every night or half the week and staying out til 4am, then we'll talk parenting issues.

I'm sorry, but this made me laugh. A "much needed break from the baby." She has been a mother for less than 1 month and she already needs a break.
