EXCLUSIVE: New Gig for CBS The Early Show's Hannah Storm
Wednesday November 28, 2007

Anchor Hannah Storm is leaving the CBS Early Show after five years — but she’s not going far, Usmagazine.com has learned.

A source close to the network says she’ll be reassigned, and will likely focus on longer stories.

“There are a number of things on the table right now,” the source tells Us. “They very much like her at CBS. They’re offering her a lot of plum assignments.”

Storm, 45, who has covered everything form the war in Iraq to the Olympics, has “wanted to do longer form reporting for awhile,” the source says. “Her future at CBS is pretty good.”

But the anchor’s departure from the show is not without controversy.

Shelley Ross, who took over as executive producer of The Early Show in September, “loved Hannah and fought tooth and nail to get her to stay,” the source says. "This is the network's decision over Shelley Ross'."

As for Storm?

“She was surprised, but pretty cool with [the decision].”
