Michael Moore does in fact give many the opportunity in his documentaries for others to speak their views- Charlton Heston, K Mart, Michigan Militia, etc. When he does that he's accused to harassing them. He did not do this in Sicko because he feels that the medical industry gets plenty of media exposure, telling their "side" in the mainstream media, which they do. Furthermore, why should he? Aren't their public words, actions, and documents enough? Anyone who decides their viewpoint based upon one piece of information is not too wise anyway and their uneducated opinion is not on his shoulders. The same could be said of any person putting their opinion out there and not an opposing view- politicians on all sides, religious leaders, advertisements, etc.

I hope that the writer simply missed the mark with the irony in the statement about "national treasure." Kiefer is not only the child of two Canadians, but the grandchild of a Canadian politician who is active in Canadian politics himself. Shouldn't the writers know about celebrities if they work at a celebrity entertainment magazine? Just saying...

I think MM is good at what he does, but he only portrays (sp.?sorry...) his side of a story which he does with an enormous effort and amount of research and so far I have watched all his documentaries,
but yea, if u don 't have ur own opinion already, it's easy to get sucked into his, or at least tempting...

Name-calling ['hipocrite'] by PETA is not an acceptable way to focus their cause; also they don't get to try to shame film makers into going vege to support their agenda. Michael Moore's body of work has helped millions already from the depressed auto-industry [Roger & Me], gun-control interests [Bowling for Columbine] and now health care injustices [Sicko], to name just a few.

Moore's films are not 'lashing out on any topic' they are brilliant, incisive, and thought-provoking documentaries that are also typically entertaining and often hilarious. It's called ART and, while I support the PETA cause completely, they're way over the mark here.

If you click on the Michael Moore link, you will see that PETA is telling him that becoming vegetarian, he will lose weight. Why is it alright for Michael Moore to lash out ono any topic, but PETA can't? It's the same thing. Michael Moore should get involved in a good cause and help out this country and then maybe I would find his research and whining credible.

The Heigl-Kelly union seems improbable and tricky juggling a big Hollywood career and a C-list singer-songwriter always on the road, but we can still congratulate and wish them well.

What does the ethical treatment of animals have to do with the PETA statement about Sicko and the state of Michael Moore's body-mass index? It's a cheap shot and focuses negative attention on PETA. Moore doesn't have to be an Iron-man to make relevant documentaries.
