· Rosie O'Donnell passed on Oprah Winfrey's invitation to talk about her new book on her show, opting to interview with Diane Sawyer instead.
· When did Ed Burns first kiss now-wife Christy Turlington? "Probably within five minutes of meeting her," Burns says of their first date. "Which hurt my chances. It took her a long time to come around. But I got her good and drunk, if I remember correctly, which never hurts."
· Marilyn Manson won't carry his girlfriend's baggage.
· Andy Samberg can't take a hint.
· Milo Ventimiglia is arousing suspicion by spending a lot of time with equally complicated surnamed costar Hayden Panettiere and cutting her meat.
Katie E! You are so confident in your convictions! I wish I had that kind of stength! Most people probably don't remember in the 70's global cooling. People were freaking about that as well. I tend to choose things that are enviromentally friendly or "green" for my families health like low VOC paint etc. Not global warming, I think Al Gore is one serious bozo hyped out POS. I like my hybrid, I do! But it's a V6 hylander. It has to do with my false sense of security. Yes, Kerry/support the troops. Riiiiiight. Grrrrr.
Thanks for the kind words! I try not to post too much under my name, people just freak out. And as you can tell, I am an overly sensative girl:o)
Hey Heather B! Actually, I DO think it's is everyone's right to drive whatever they want, whether you're American, Canadian, French, Iraqi, etc.
I recycle and I don't litter and honestly don't believe that people who buy SUV's hate the environment...there are MULTIPLE reasons to have an SUV (like I said before, towing things, having a bigger and safer car on the freeway, having a big truck to move things, etc.). I honestly don't believe people who buy SUV's are like "Ha, ha! Frick the environment!"
I, for one, don't believe all the man-made global warming hype. Sure, our earth's temp. has gone up 1 degree over the last hundred years...but scientists are STILL arguing whether that's caused by man-made carbon emissions OR cyclical climate changes over 100's and 1000's of years. I'm more concerned about the terrorism, Iranian/Syrian/N. Korean nuclear threat at the moment.
Lol! about your Range Rover/"No War For Oil" bumper sticker! That's pretty funny. That's about as bad all the "Kerry/Edwards '04" bumper stickers sitting right next to the "support the troops" ribbons!
How have you been by the way Heather B.! It's good to see you on the site!
Jen1 - I apologize for taking your comments as an attack. I honestly thought they were. After reading through your posts later in this thread though, you seem like a nice, sensible person...just with opposing views from mine! No problemo! And I'm sorry for coming off harsh in my first 2 posts b/c I did feel attacked in the previous thread.
Oh Jolee, I will so be praying for him. So will our family and our church. Thank him profusely for our family! Richard was supposed to go to Iraq 4 years ago, they put him in Washington State. Basically the buildings they put the guys in had black mold. His unit never went, their command had issues. He has respitory problems now, so the military is retraining him and sending him to school. He is going for a degree in Civil Engineering sp? His MOS in the military is NBC NCO I'm thinking it's Nuclear, bio, chem warfare Non commisioned officer. Wow what a lot to write. Someone is going to shoot me for that spelling. I can't think of a better place to be for him, helping our soliders! God Bless! I'm sending you something for you and him! Have a great night, h
Going to dinner, be back soon. :)
Jen, THANK GOD! I was worried for a minute :)
Hey Heather, is your husband in school for his MOS, or something else? Leon leaves for San Antonio soon for MOS school(Nuclear Radiology). His unit is deploying to Iraq in Sept. Luckily, he won't have to go again because he isn't MOS certified (he just rejoined the reserves). Say a prayer for them. Luckily its a medical unit, so they'll be in a hospital; not "in the sh!t!"
oh jolee I just read the most recent OJ thread. No that is definatly not me.
stupid annoying trolls.
Jolee....god no...there was a troll stalking me all weekend. I only went online a couple times and just happened to be looking at that one and saw my name. If you scroll up from that comment you'll see I posted one denying it, and saying I don't think OJ is worthy of my comment.
OJ there are no words.
HAHAHAHA! Well, I can see where one might consider that person a bit confused. :) But, again, just because we use oil, doesn't necessarily mean we promote war. As I always say, necessity fuels progression. We have to find some other means. Its time.
This is what p!sses me off about suv's and the enviroment. This doesn't mean all suv owners. The other day at the store I saw a Range Rover w/ a sticker on it that said "No war for oil." That's my problem.
LOL, Heather!
Where did everyone go?
Jen1, was that really your comment on the OJ thread?
Yes I completely agree! Peace sister! It is tough because sometimes when we write something it isn't exactly how we meant it to be. I'm just sayin'. I get you, I don't think we should all be driving hybrids and that will save the world. For me what I wrote is it was a personal choice. Katie can drive anything she needs to, lol katie! It was just how it was written, I was trying to play devils advocate so we could all get along and see each others points. Like I said if we could do that then we can save the world! Girl power!
Heather, I know you never said that if one drives an SUV they must not care about the environment; it's just typically a generalization that's made.
Can't we attack the issues instead of each other? How are all us smart wonderful women going to solve anything this way?
Heather B, don't you think its okay (and your right) to drive the car that suits your needs? -- Being totally friendly :) I don't want to turn this into an environmental debate, but just because someone drives an SUV, doesn't mean they don't care about the environment.

I don't think its bad at all to share views from each party. In fact, I think that's what's best! It causes people to really consider what they believe. If I had to lump myself into a category, I fall into the Libertarian party.
poor Katie. Common, I was hardly attacking you, if anything you attacked me. My inital comment wasn't remotely directed at you. You have your opinion I have mine, but it seems to me you were earlier defending a woman who works for a network that out-right lies to people. I know, I know you don't want to consider it therefore you will label me tainted by the Liberal media and think no more on the fact that it could be true. So, I guess I know where YOU get your information. Obviously you won't consider any other sources because several believe that someone lied, and Bush is the leader of that administration so he should be held accountable.
But it's clear to me that you are incredibly sensitive and feel attack by a clear and concise political arguement so I'll stop talking about it.
Katie, last week it kind of sounded like it was your right as an American to drive what ever you wanted to. I promise I'm not trying to get you mad at me:0) I sent you a birthday ecard too!
6:56 PM Anonymous Says:
You're highly argumentative and you have a hard time with reading comprehension. I never said that you should only consider conservative sources, I said the opposite. I don't think you should pay as much attention to how any one party spins the facts, but more on the facts themselves. But apparently, that to much to ask from someone like you.
I like Rosie when she isn't talking about the war. She can be really funny.
6:53 PM Anonymous Says:
Well, you must not have read my response to your post. I told you I was referring to a stereo type and explained my comment it in detail. I was DEFENDING Midwesterners. If you can't understand that, or refuse to admit it, then you're just argumentative and you have the problem.
Hey guys, last week I got lambasted by Jen1 for being a selfish American for driving an SUV. I'm only repearing some of the sentiments she shared on a thread last week. But yes, I do have a problem with people who truly and honeslty with all their heart believe that Bush INTENTIONALLY lied and made up ALL that information JUST to get us into a war. I think people like that are ignorant and totally ridiculous! It they watch way too much liberal news and believe everything that's said without thinking about it, processing it, and coming to sensible conclusions using common sense.
There was information coming in from ALL OVER THE WORLD (Britain's intelligence, Russia's intelligence) saying what a threat Sadaam was and how he was actively seeking nuke capability. He broke multiple UN resolutions regarding nukes, and MOST people thought he had WMD's. Bush had to (with the HELP OF CONGRESS) make an extremely difficult decision, with the information at hand, in a relatively short amount of time. Hindsight's 20/20, and we now know some of the intelligence was faulty...but even you anti-war/peace-activists would be screaming at Bush had he NOT done something with the information he had at the time and the US had gotten attacked.
Sorry, but I'm just totally sick of this "Bush lied, people died" rhetoric. And perseverating on the retarded notion that Bush intentionally lied to the American people does NOTHING to help the situation at hand. We're there now. Deal with it and support our troop stabilization of the country so they can come home.
Jolee, I live in a country where the 'centre' political party is called The Liberal Party. And I live in province where The Liberal Party is considered conservative. So draw conclusions from that. I don't really understand why the word 'liberal' is so bad. But again, I grew up in a completely different country and different upbrining so I can't really understand why you think 'libral' is so bad. I know that being conservative is fine in some respects such as fiscally, however I don't agree with their environmental policies. So, that means, sometimes I'm conservative, sometimes I'm liberal. It's hard for me to understand why it's so bad to like opinions from both parties.
Kate calm down, you know Americans don't hold the rights to dying in wars. I also have friends in the military. There are Canadians dying in Afghanastan. I understand that the individual soliders have their own reasons for being there. Look back at my post, I don't even think that they should get out of Iraq, you're there now, you can't just suddenly leave.
Why do you get so defensive just because i'm trying to talk about Bush. I never actually said I hated him, I don't know him. I sure hate the way it appears he is running your country. By the way, I also live in a free country, and i'm allowed to say what I want, and have an opinion about what your American government is doing to the rest of the world. You can't just be a country that decides what's good for everyone else. That seems to be what George Bush's attitude is. At least that's the impression he gives to a lot of the rest of the world. Who wouldn't be annoyed and offended at that.
Don't suppress my own canadian right to say what I like, thank you very much.
thank you heather b, I am a Democrat, but it doesn't mean I support every democrat out there or all of their thoughts! Just because I like Rosie doesn't mean I'm a conspiracy theorist, and that's what Katie says every time someone comes to her (Rosie's defense). She has entertained me with her interview skills and I have loved her talk shows, yep, there's lots I disagree with and has she made me roll my eyes a few times, absolutely, but I still support her as an entertainer.
Ann Coulter is a psycho! Not all republicans follow those people, although I do like Sean Hanity. That's like saying you love Cindy Shehan and Al Sharpton.
6:20, you're right, we should only listen to Ann Coulter, Hannity and Colmes and FOX news because they are totally impartial
I live in Missouri, it is a little scary out here!
Anon should save the attacks on Katie E, because Katie E never attacks anyone, ever.
