FACEBOOKWell mischa Barton really the center of attention in OC, but yeah, I agree that she have done something really bad, but the good side about it she learned from it. (I hope so!) and will never try it again. But... I will never agree on what she said regarding education that she doesn't need it anymore, cuz she is making her own money far from others at her age, but thats what she has to prove more that she is making good money and yet she got education that not everyone had cuz of wrong thinking that education if just a 2nd option.

Mischa Barton has opened up about her December 2007 DUI arrest.
“That was a low point for me. I never, ever would have thought I would be arrested,” Barton told Nylon magazine's August issue.
“I was disappointed because it associated me with a group of girls that I would rather not be associated with. That was the biggest bummer for me – I didn’t leave my house. I was too embarrassed. They made such a big deal out of it with these other young actresses, that, for a little bit, I wanted to crawl into a hole and die.”
In April the OC alum was put on three years' probation, ordered to attend a three-month alcohol education program and fined $1,652.
"It was a stupid thing to do," Barton, who now lives in Paris said of driving under the influence. "But... I’ve done a lot to pay back for what I did."
The actress, 22, continued, “I make mistakes, and I never claimed to be perfect. It’s weird. The way I live my life, I don’t want to be so closeted that I just have to shut myself off and become some protected young starlet that’s removed from reality, but I was also just shocked at what a big deal people made out of it.”
As Usmagazine.com previously reported, Barton turned down a role on Gossip Girl.
“I was offered to play a role, but just because I’ve come out of ‘The OC,’ why would I want to go back on another series that is exactly the same?” she asked. “It’s just not what I wanted to do, and it’s not the kind of material I’m looking for.”

What's next for Barton?
"I would want to go to college for the learning, but there's so much else that comes with that that I don't think I need anymore," she said. "I've been making my own money and living as an adult for far too long.

I give her a lot of credit for just downright admitting what she did, instead of making lame excuses, like a lot of them do. She is realistic and honest. Good luck to her!

Is she sorry? Yes like I was, but only that she got caught. hahaha (I was sorry though----In hindsight, I think now of how I could have killed a family much less myself engaging in DUI/DWI activity.)
Was she embarassed? Yes.
Will she learn her lesson and never drink and drive again? Nope. I didn't. Working on my others now...Mine was mainly pills tho'. S-A-D :(
Does she like the negative publicity? Any publicity is good publicity.
I don't care what anyone says, she's absolutely a-d-o-r-a-b-l-e.

I agree, I think she's only sorry she got caught. I'm sure this wasn't her first time getting into a car after a few too many. What makes her sound like an idiot is the comment that she was shocked that people made such a big deal out of it. Hello?! It is a big deal! She could have injured or killed someone or herself. I hope the members of MADD use her as big 'ole fat example and tear her a new one!

The young lady made a mistake. Thankfully, nothing bad came out of it, and I am sure she has learned a lesson. However, I believe her lesson learned (by her own words) is that she cared more about being grouped with other "dummies", and what kind of attention she got.
Nowhere in there is the admission of learning what events could have occured from her mistake.
Regardless, based on the fact that the worst thing she felt out of it all, was the above, it's probably likely that she won't repeat her mistake, which is most important.

What a hypocrite! She loved the attention she got for her DUI. She was on Ryan Seacrest's show and posed for photo ops outside the Catholic church in Beverly Hills. She keeps bringing it up for attention and so that people will write articles about it! Seriously..what has she done to, as she said "pay back" for what she did? Meet anyone from MADD? Try to educate herself on the dangers of drunk driving? Didn't think do! I was a huge fan of hers when she was on the OC..now I can't stand her.
