Last night, Idol producers cued up the sappy background music while the top 40 Hollywood hopefuls were quickly pared down to a final 24.
We said goodbye to early favorites Tami Gosnell, Sean Michel and Ebony Jointer as we were also formally introduced to a handful of contestants (we're looking at you, Stephanie Edwards - who were seldom seen in earlier episodes for unknown reasons). And, as expected, Sunjaya Malakar, Chris Sligh and Lakisha Jones quickly cemented their spots, but it was the down-to-the-wire action that kept us on the edge of our seats.
Don't be fooled, though. Even though Seacrest played coy when it came down to deciding between Thomas Daniels and Sundance Head, we totally knew Sundance was going to come out dancin.'
We’re huge Idol fans here at Usmagazine.com and, after six seasons of witnessing dozens of good, bad, and downright ugly auditions, we consider ourselves to be Idol connoisseurs. So, for your viewing pleasure, we’ve handicapped the Top 24 kids and compiled a slideshow of their glamour shots before voting starts next week. Get ready, America, Idol mania is about to begin!

First of all let me set everyone straight!!! This is a SINGING contest....The following things dont mean CRAP!!!
1. He/she's cute...So's a Golden Retriever.
2. He/she's a single parent.... Sad stories dont count, tell it to your welfare worker.
3. You missed the birth of your baby to be on the show..the was your decision.
4. Im a mommy or daddy....stay home and change diapers unless you can sing.
5. You have a cute kid and the producers keep showing close ups of the kid bawling...Thank God they stopped that cause it was getting REAL old.
6. Teeny boppers in the audience turn on the water works...this means NOTHING!!! Teen age girls are DRAMA QUEENS!!!
7. Sanjaya Sucks and needs to be sent home!!!

Alrighty ladies & gentlemen ... here's the deal. Sunjaya has no talent what so ever. The only reason he is getting any votes is because of the little teeny bopper girls that for some unknown reason thing he's hot. It reminds me of when I was in grade 7 and went to see New Kids on the Block all the girls were crying ... Seriously ridiculous.
If he wins the show ... I think American Idol will be over forever.
I don't even know how he made it to the top 24 ... shocked the judges put him through that far ... they must be regretting the decision now ...
Next Year they should change the name to "American No Talent, but we love ya anyway".
So, be true Sunjaya fans ... listen to the guy ... would you buy his CD??? Even my dog leaves the room when he goes up. COME ON ... he's a disaster!

It's obvious none of you know crap about being a good singer if you're voting for Sunjaya. He is TERRIBLE!!! Clean out your ears America!! This is a singing competition not a fashion show!!! Who cares if he has a nice perm!! He sounds like Michael Jackson except he can't sing!! It's not fair to AJ, Sundance, Brandon, and the rest of the people that sing better than him. I didn't liked the chosen ones of this season. I'm really disappointed with the judges. I have no idea what the hell happend but they made horrible choices this year.
And I still can't freakin' believe that they sent Baily Brown home :(

Some people are saying that if you like Sanjaya you must be on crack,but i think he is really tallented and is just picking the wrong songs! I personally love him and think he did really good on WAITING ON THE WORLD TO CHANGE. Yes i no he his had his downs but does not deserve to be talked to like some people are commenting(some people say he sucks and sounds gay) just say u dont like them goofballs. The other people i like are Lakisha she makes me get goose bumps she's so good! Oh and u cant i repeat cant for get Malinda Dolittle. Then there is Phil and Chris. I personally think they are all good who are at the top 12 now but there is only one person i dont think deservs to be there wont mention who though. I hope to tell u a little more about what "I" think next week. :)

I'm really hoping for two girls,one boy, and kind of hoping for one girl. The first girl I'm hoping for is Melinda. She blew away most of the performers last Wednesday. The second girl I want is LaKisha. She ROCKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The boy I want is Sunjaya. He is very good. The girl I kind of want is Leslie. She is good, but probably won't last too long. By the way, im watching the show right now. Sundance is ok middle of the road for me. I had to close my eyes @ some point when they zoomed in on his chin. No he didnt read this and go to CVS but my family say they want to vote for him. Im not sure, I like the first guy--the backround singer, thomas danials i think. I COULD BE WRONG. So dont bash me if thats not his name. I didnt learn all the names yet. I dont really care for idol as much as I used to. LOL goodnight

My favorite this year Rudy Cardenas! He is awesome!! He has been my favorite since the auditions. I also liked Bailey Brown! I was soooo mad when she got out! My other favorite that is still in is Sunjaya Malakar. He is really good too!
I am definitely voting for RUDY amd SUNJAYA on Tuesday night!!
My favorite girl is Lakisha! She is like another Mandisa! I will be voting for her a lot on Wednesday!
