Oscar alert! Nearly 10 years after Ben Affleck, 34, and Matt Damon, 36, snagged Hollywood’s highest honor for cowriting Good Will Hunting, the wonder boys are working together on a new screenplay, an insider tells Us Weekly.
“They’re really excited about it,” says the source.
The childhood pals wrote GWH during the early ’90s.
And what a difference a decade makes!
Then, the struggling actors shared an apartment in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Now the screen idols have spent two weeks getting their creative juices flowing in a $13,000-a-week house in Kauai, Hawaii.
“Ben and Matt keep taking breaks to go surfing and hang out with their families,” adds the source. “But for the most part, they’ve been writing together on this trip.”

Come on, think about it. These guys were teenagers when they wrote GWH. I find it incredible that BOYS that age could come up with such insight into relationships, especially marriage. Think about some of Robin William's lines about his wife, they were extremely sensitive and mature thoughts. Who cares if they act...let them write! They're talented!!!!!

Don't they look for talent any more?
Talent like Pacino, Wayne, De Niro, Nicholson,
etc...You couldn't pay me to go see these bores..
and they're all like carbon copies of one another..

Just asking -- Why does everyone love Jen Garner and that mini-me kid? Didn't she get preggers before marriage (TRAP??), and now Nicole is doing the same thing and everyone is having a fit... I wouldn't get pregnant to trap Ben, that's for sure!!! Hmmm.... Matthew McConaughey maybe.......

I never saw GWH till about 6 months ago. I LOVED it. But not sure if I loved it more cause of the actors involved or what... I love Casey Affleck. But, I wish them well and hope they have another success. Ben needs some good creative accolades!

Well, all-right! I have always liked both these men and think they are wonderful for holding true to their friendship in the "spit in each other's eye" attitude of Hollywood. So glad they both found their niche, their true loves and if it takes them a while to get that next collaboration out, that's cool too. They have more on their plate than just a movie which is also what makes the two of them not just 'cool' but "wicked cool". Did I just use the word cool too many times?? "- D
