Desperate Housewives actress Marcia Cross, who is expecting twins in April with her stockbroker hubby, Tom Mahoney, has been put on bed rest by her doctor, her spokeswoman informed the Associated Press on Wednesday.
"This is a precautionary measure only," publicist Heidi Slan said in an e-mail to the AP.
Cross plays the uptight housefrau Bree Van De Kamp on the hit ABC series.
With the expectant actress now confined to her home, producers of the hit ABC series have decided to move production to Cross' L.A. home for two days to shoot the last two episodes, according to TV Guide. They will be sending in crews to transform the lower level of her house into a stage set matching the interior of Bree's extremely tidy home.
The show's producers did not write Cross' pregnancy into the show's plot, and the actress was scheduled to film only two more shows after the Feb. 11 episode since it was becoming too difficult to hide her pregnancy.
Cross, 44, and Mahoney married in June 2006 after a two-year courtship.
Cross isn't the first famous actress ordered to bed. In 2004, Julia Roberts spent the last several weeks of her pregnancy on bed rest before giving birth to twins Phinnaeus Walter and Hazel Patricia, now 2.

she is way to old to be having kids, I my son was born when I was 19, its young but id say the best time to have kids is in your early to late twenties. you got to have them young so that your still young-middle aged when there grown. I would say the maximum age to have a kid should be 39-40 after that is dangerous because the kids could also develop mental problems and older mothers have a greater chance of having more health issues...............

I think she looks beautiful and happy. I really do. Most redheads tend to be pale and I guess Marcia could give a damn about tanning since she has found (and married) a man who loves everything about her. Hell, I wouldn't care either if I were her. Besides, I think we'd have to factor in the color of her dress with the fact that there appears to be no sun in her direction in determining how pale she is.

just because she's old doesn't mean that's the reason she's having complications. its hard to carry twins...many women get put on bed rest because it's so stressful on the body. I'm happy for her...and she's beautiful even if her legs are shocking white

I've been told when a lady is preggo, there is a glow that comes off of them...maybe its just me and i'm too busy reaching for my sunglasses because of the glare that is coming off of those very very very very white a@@ legs...but i don't see any glow

i couldn't imagine carrying twins! i was put on bedrest during both of my pregnancies.... good luck to her and the babies!!! and my goodness... i couldn't get by without commenting on the legs! that is the most pale white person i've ever seen! she looks like powder's sister! (with hair)

Not that it really matters, but at 44, did she need any fertility assistance? I haven't heard anything, but always curious when someone who is 44 gets pregnant with twins.

Being pregnant with twins is tough, I had my precious little angels in 2004. The extra weight, the swelling, the babies kicking all night in every direction, the heaviness. But it's all worth it when you finally see them. Luckily for me, I didn't need any bedrest and I managed to carry them until 39 weeks, not typical of a twin pregnancy I was told. (Although after 37 weeks I was REALLY tired of being pregnant) Marcia is so blessed, and after she has them, she'll think back to her pregnancy and know it was all worth it. BTW Regarding her legs being ghostly white. She DOES seem extra pale in those pictures. Photoshopped perhaps? Or maybe she has a touch of anemia, a common ailment especially of those carrying twins.
