Lauren Conrad, nicknamed L.C., was born and raised in Laguna Beach, Calif. Conrad became an overnight celebrity when her life was chronicled in the MTV reality seriesLaguna Beach: The Real O.C. , which premiered on the music channel in 2004. After two wildly successful seasons, MTV gave Conrad her own spinoff series, The Hills, which was created to chronicle her internship at Teen Vogue and life in Los Angeles. The success of both programs made Conrad cover girl material for Teen Vogue and Seventeen magazines.
