The L.A. City Attorney wants Britney Spears slapped with a 24 month probation for driving without a license, but her lawyer says the pop singer is being treated unfairly.
At a hearing Monday in in a Van Nuys, California, a judge honored Spears' attorney Michael Flanagan's request to postpone the case until January 2 to discuss the matter further and examine all the evidence.
When asked if Spears, 25, feels the system is picking on her, Flanagan told reporters, "She hasn't said anything that I can quote. Do I feel that way? Yes, I feel that way."
He said the City Attorney is willing to reduce the 24 months to 12 months, but Flanagan insisted, "No misdemeanor violation is satisfactory to me."
The incident stems from August when Spears crashed her car into a 1999 Mercedes-Benz station wagon in a parking lot and drove away. Though the hit and run charge was dismissed, Spears still faces a misdemeanor count of driving without a valid California license.
Flanagan said he did not expect a formal trial on the matter.
"I do believe that both sides will reach an amicable resolution," he said.
This video probably won't help her case.

The proposed probation has nothing to do with driving over the feet of various people and quite clearly that is not being held against her as she has not faced a single charge regarding those accidents.
The courts should concentrate of ALL traffic violators, paparazzi and those they are following. That is what they are doing in this case.

If I had that many people chasing me in my car,while it's moving, i would run over more that one foot. NO ONE should have to drive under those conditions. The COURTS should concentrate on how to STOP the MEDIA abuse. Someone will get really hurt one day. It's almost like it's what people are waiting for, So they can say what a crackpot Britney is..

Im still trying to understand what exactly is so great about her that she has contributed to society that is worthy of this kind of admiration in spite of her utter lack of self control. They turn a blind eye and make excuses for every dumb thing she does for what? Skimpy outfits that no longer fit...cheesy songs that she has to lip sync to every time to hide that she cant really sing? She makes her fans look like complete morons every time they go to bat for her. It is laughable at best and I am almost embarrassed for them. She knows what she is doing. She knows she is being followed. They dont have to dig far or make stuff up...she is a sure thing every time. She does it all in front of the cameras and isnt even trying to hide it.

there is a big difference between the whole nicole/brit/linds/and paris thing. Paris got more time because she broke probation not because of the other illegal stuff she did. Thats how they get you in california because our jails are way too crowded here. So if you arent on probation they just let you go for similiar offenses but if the court puts you on probation they will throw you in jail for littering.

If I was being followed every second of my day I would make sure I was obeying the law. She has got to be the dumbest person in the world. Or could give a sh^t less about anything except herself.
